Forums - Nintendo - I just bit the bullet and bought Boom Blox...

If you like horrible graphics, imprecise controls, and terrible music than keep Boom Blox. If you play games because you are into having fun than get the new RRR game. It's hysterical. Boom Blox is by far the most overrated game on the Wii. You'll enjoy playing it for a couple of hours and than never play it again because it gets so boring so quick. EA and Steven Speilberg should be ashamed of themselves. People that recommend this game should be even more ashamed of themselves.

There are a few haters on this website, but don't worry.  I thought that the music and graphics of Boom Blox and the first RRR were on a similar level with a slight edge to Boom Blox.  The controls on Boom Blox are pretty good too.  I did have one problem with the controls on a later level.  The cursor may disappear from the screen for a second after you throw a ball, which is problematic if you need to throw balls rapidly.

Boom Blox is a great rent but a terrible purchase.

At least you didnt buy the game for 50$.

You need to change the deal so that you're allowed one full priced game per month, or 2 half priced games instead, that way you can get both. You can get both for the same price as one 360/PS3 game.

You also need to grow some testicles

Did I make the right decision?  I got it for a good price, $29.00 new .  I love the video's and gameplay features I've seen on the web.  The only problem is Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party is on sale for 29.47 at a nearby store.  I love the first one, and so does my wife.  I am only allowed to buy one game a month (That comes with having a wife, just a little info for the youngsters on this board).  Should I exhange Boom Blox, and go get RRR TV Party, or should I just keep boom blox?  Boom Blox has not been opened yet.

If RRR is on sale get that.  And then next month pick up boom blox.

No way. I've played through the entire single player mode, which lasts many hours and I have still to gold every level. My friends can come over and pick up and play with no problem. Women like it. How can it be a terriblr purchase?

Yes.

Yes, good buy. the price is dropping like a stone, so I was thinking about exchanging my burned copy with the original soon.

This reminded me, my girlfriend enjoyed playing Boom Blox with me in multiplayer and in single player.

I rented the first RRR, and I think that Boom Blox is miles ahead of it. It is a really fun physics puzzle game. I enjoyed it more in multiplayer.

So you're saying that Boom Blox is miles ahead of a game that was released at launch.  This is impressive in what way?

Unfortunately that launch game is much better.  The RRR games continue to be fun after playing them several times.  Boom Blox gets old within the first day of owning it.  It's fun for a couple of hours until you figure out that you're doing the same four things over and over with horrible controls.

If any game is the same thing over and over again it is RRR.  I'm glad I only rented it because it got old in one night.

There are several different types of minigames. Maybe you don't have a sense of humor or enjoy minigames. The controls also work in the RRR games.

Example:  the lightgun levels in the RRR games are spot on.  The want to be shooting segments in Boom Blox are awful.  You have to shoot like five seconds (slight exaggeration) ahead of time to hit something.  I could go on and on and on with the control problems but I wont.

I get pissed off when people recommend this game.  It makes it look like there are no good games on the Wii.  I am a huge supporter of the Wii and it's quality games.  This is not a quality game.
