My question is: Does Kill Zone 2 have Auto-Aim in it? That would make the game easier for people who are not good at shooters.

I don´t think Killzone 2 provides this option, but there´s an easy (casual) mode.

Bring on Mike B's MP review of Kill Zone 2 in a week's time. That should give you enough time to fully test it out and give us another review.

It's going to take a few more weeks, I am currently on a too lousy temporary internet connection for online play (due to moving to a new home). In about a week or two everything will be back to normal.

My top 10 of all-time favourite FPS games I played so far:

1) Killzone 2
2) Resistance 2
3) Half-Life 2
4) Call of Duty 4
5) Half-Life
6) Duke Nukem 3D
7) Resistance: Fall of Man
8) Bioshock
9) Halo: Combat Evolved
10) Call of Duty: WAW

I was once skeptical with regard to playing FPS games with a Playstation controller, but I now prefer to play my games this way. The availability of HDTVs and good surround sound systems also helped in the conversion process.

@ kowenicki

I agree with most of that (thats a first for me and you Mike).

I strongly disagree about R2 though... I think it is a terrible game

No wonder, you think Resistance 2 is a terrible game... What's really so terrible about that game? Some of the aspects which I think make Killzone 2 a great game made Resistance 2 stand out as well, there were some really hectic (albeit less convincing, due to less polish and its far more cartoony nature) scenes in there.

How far have you come in Resistance 2? What are the biggest annoyances?

BTW, in hindsight don't you agree with at least some of my past statements, like:

Which I stated I thought to be the case:

- The PS3 would perform better in Europe than for the United States.
- Blu-Ray would win the format war against HD DVD.
- Many early PS3 games didn't yet take good advantage of the Cell's SPEs.
- The Nintendo Wii would be successful for Nintendo.

etc, etc?

To be honest, this review was a little more "it's less than perfect" then I thought it'd be. That's good thing though, because that despite your obvious leanings to a particular console, you can actually pinpoint the positives and negatives of a game (unlike most).

i'm running through the single player campaign myself at the moment, and it's an enjoyable experience.

Also, I agree with your remark about the PS3 controller and FPS (applies to 360 controller for me aswell), not sure what the hype is with mouse and keyboards anymore.

@ kowenicki

I just don't agree with your tone and sentiments in a more general sense Mike.

OK, but that's something else. I know I didn't put on gloves when talking about below industry standard reliability regarding the XBox 360 for at least the first years. I still feel I shouldn't have, as in hindsight internal Microsoft emails put forward in court shows they knew about RRoD and disc scratching issues before they launched the console, so personally I don't regret those statements at all.

IMO those who were / are upset about my past complaints regarding their practices are just blind fanboys. I know this caused a lot of hatred against me amongst some vivid 360 supporters. But nearly all their defenses for Microsoft (and in cases abuse against victims) IMO in hindsight have proven to be completely unfounded.

This blows Resistance 2 out of the water. I thought that game was lacking in polish, which KZ2 certainly is not.

The 8 player co-op is great, but the campaign is crap, and the skirmish online mode is a joke (Capture the beacon, Capture the beacon, Capture the beacon, Assassinate this target, Capture the beacon Capture the beacon Capture the beacon Capture the beacon Capture the beacon Capture the beacon Capture the beacon Capture the beacon Capture the beacon Capture the beacon Aid this squad Capture the beacon Capture the beacon Capture the beacon Capture the beacon)

I would say Killzone 2> CoD4> Halo 3> Resistance 2. All great games, though. Anybody comparing any of them to Haze is foolish.
