If I had half a decade and the budget of Killzone 2, I'm sure I could make a game as good as Killzone 2 too.
Pixel Art can be fun.

So games with long developing time and big budget will automatically get 90+ in metacritic? Too Human says hi.
You've got to love blog authors that are so diluted in their fanboyism that they can't even get simple facts correct. Killzone 2 is the fourth game developed by Guerrilla Games, not the second. Killzone was not their first game, Shellshock: Nam '67 was. Guerrilla doesn't deserve much credit for getting it right on the fourth try. Sorry.
If you all want to legitimately congratulate a Sony studio that went from a poorly received first game, to a fantastic second game, your answer is Media Molecule. They went from the PC exclusive Rag Doll Kung Fu, with a 69 Metacritic, to Little Big Planet, with a 95 Metacritic. That's a difference of 26.
Give credit where it's due.
Edit: Also what's with the tag line of overcoming the odds? What odds did Guerilla Games overcome? Do they hire handicapped people and the team's physicial or mental handicaps were something they had to overcome to make a great game? All I know from them is that they were thrown a very generous budget and got help from numerous other teams to create Killzone 2. Those don't seem like overcoming any odds.
"in my opinion the best FPS released since Half Life 2"
What was that the only FPS they've played since Half Life 2. I mean seriously.
"How many developers do you know have accomplished what Guerrilla Games have?"
I know devs that have made good first games followed by good second games haha. Isn't that more of an accomplishment haha.
It's great that GG seems to have turned around their developing for the better and whatnot but a lot of this really needs to stop. We are happy that they didn't repeat what they did with the first Killzone but that doesn't mean they created the next godly franchise. A little modesty didn't hurt anyone guys. Guess I'll just have to play it to see what all this fuss is about but whatev.

And they got to do it with what was basically a blank cheque and a long development time. Things that are usually only given to studios that have delivered a massive hit.
Hmm, you're asking if a franchise has ever before seen a 21 point metacritic jump?
I shall not take this task, I shall instead assume that K2 will continue to drop metacritic points as more reviews come in (all games do this btw)
I shall thus try to find a franchise where the metacritic jumps 18 points
Done, in 1 minute, with only using one search
GTA2 = 70
GTA3 = 93
Improvement = 23
K2's current imporvement = 21
K2's likely improvement once all reviews come in = 18
Want me to find another??
