First, leo-j reserach shows us that girls do not like the Wii.

Hey, what? Is that true leo-j? Because all of my girl friends wants/has a Wii.

I think the girl said they like the 360 better, not that they don't have a wii.

I think it is still pretty darn short in the U.S. I saw my first units in the wild a couple of weeks ago but have seen none since. Those that were available were gone quick. I was out doing back to school shopping last weekend and was all over the place -- wal mart, target, and toys r us among other stores. No Wiis anywhere to be found. We do know that Nintendo shipped a lot of extra consoles to the U.S. for July and I suspect the same for August. It could be that demand and supply are roughly equal in most other areas of the world and any excess inventory they have is making its way to the U.S.

Itrakr, by all measures not an up-to-the-minute" measurement still has the Wii at 5%. I only use their number as a "gauge" of availability at a few key retailers. When that number starts getting to 50% or so, I think you can begin to say the Wii is no longer supply constrained in the U.S.

Speaking of back to school shopping... I would think August is a tough month for game console sales given that most kids are returning to school and the last thing on most parents minds is buying another distraction from school, homework, etc., so we may see a general console slowdown from now until November. That's just me thinking, though, and that's dangerous, at best.

I hate trolls.

Systems I currently own:  360, PS3, Wii, DS Lite (2)
Systems I've owned: PS2, PS1, Dreamcast, Saturn, 3DO, Genesis, Gamecube, N64, SNES, NES, GBA, GB, C64, Amiga, Atari 2600 and 5200, Sega Game Gear, Vectrex, Intellivision, Pong.  Yes, Pong.

A Wii for sale! Actually my local Target had like, 3 Wiis. It was amazing, awe inspiring, etc. I guess it was Monday though, which is right after Sunday (the supposed shipment date usually)... Has anyone else been seeing them in stores more often? Seems like I have been looking for the past 9 months, and that was the first one I saw readily available. Maybe they increased shipments for Metroid?

Haha, that one was great! :D

Also, it is the day before Tuesday!

Well, I went into my local GameCrazy today and bought Madden08Wii. I did the usual small talk, "Hey, you got any Wii's in stock?" and he said, "Actually Yes". Then I said, "Wow, that's rare.". He said "Yeah, I almost said no on impulse.". I then asked "So, has the deliveries increased a lot?". He said, "Yeah, a little. We went from getting about 6 per week to about 20." He continued "We got 20 in two days ago and sold out. Then another store outside of town who seems to be having them stay in stock sent us another 10 today and I have 3 still."

So, from this I gather Wii's deliveries have definitely been increased OR focus has shifted from other regions for MP3. Either way, August is going to be a big jump I think.
