Rumor: Rare Whipping Up Two AAA Games This Year

Microsoft seems to be placing its cards on the resurgence of Rare this year, word has it that the company that has assisted several internal projects from Microsoft will show the projects it has been working on for a couple of years. There are strong indications of one being a first person shooter(read Perfect dark) and the other an online brawler(Killer Instinct 3), both games are expected to be announced by E3 2009.

Rare is king of the 80+ games :P

While Rare could indeed make some good games I doubt their ability to produce an AAA title simply because there hasn't ben one since Perfect Dark on the N64. Also, didn't most of the key staff leave after Rare was purchased by MS?

yes man! honestly AAA is nice but not necessary....if its fun and I can play it sometime this year, I win!

well its no megaton.......not intersted in a perfect dark game..........but killer instinct 3 is a 1st day buy for me. i can recall fond memories of ks arcade and the n64 rendition it was super.

I would rather amputate my fingers than cross them for Rare, but im still hopeful.

I've got enough shooters. Killer Instinct is what I have my eye set on at E3. EGM reported last year that the name of the game would be called KI: Death, Doom & Destruction. Weird eh? I know, but i'm sure i'll get over it after I get the SFIV game pad and play it. I bought the PS3 version of SFIV, but if this game is exclusive to the 360, I might as well get two SFIV pads.
