How much of a difference do you think a PS3 price cut would make on it's sales.

Sinse it matters how much of a price cut is let's say minimum of $50 maximum $100, now how much of a difference will a $50 price cut make and/or a $100 price cut.

I'd say if it was a $50 price cut, the worldwide sales will probably add about 30K more so around 170K - 180K a week, and if it was a $100 price cut it'll probably add about 75K worldwide, so around 210K - 225K a week.

(This is on average every week after the price cut, not the first couple weeks when it peaks)

$50=30-40k
$100= 70-100k

Just a guess

The thing is, whatever cut is applied, wont the 360 still be cheaper, and thereby the more attractive purchase?

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

I think that sales would be about 30-40k higher than they are at the moment with a $50 cut and around 60-80k higher with a $100 one but the problem is that with Sony already making a loss, possibly slight profit on each console sold, it would make more business sense to hang off on a price cut and let the software (which is by far the best out of the big 3 IMO of course, being 1st and 2nd party) move the consoles for the moment...

I think a $50 price cut will have enough of an impact in Europe for the PS3 to start selling more than the Xbox 360 again (except UK and maybe Ireland). $100 will put PS3 in the lead in Europe at least until the next Xbox 360 price cut and help it out quite a bit in other regions.

+100k worldwide for $100 pricecut.

50K = modest boost. I'd say 15-20K more every week (current numbers)
100K = Sales on par with X360 and even outsell it some months.

a ps3 price cut would explode the would probably sell double they are now IMO
360 may still be a bit cheaper but that didnt stop the ps3 last time

$100 price cut and the PS3 will outsell the 360.
$50 price cut narrows the gap, but the 360 will still outsell the PS3.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

So you don't think if there was a $100 price cut on the PS3 it wouldn't be outselling the X360 even though the X360 is still cheaper? right now on average the X360 outsells the PS3 by about 50K a week, a $100 price cut will easily bring in more then 50K in sales every week, even though it's still more expensive then the X360. Don't you agree?
