Now that Nintendo has removed the "Spring '09" release date, we can be certain that WSR and M+ have been delayed. Why? Maybe because they're worried about being undersupplied yet again, as this article suggests:

Maybe they've decided to include M+ into all future Wiimotes, which would cause a big delay as well.

Whatever the cause of this delay, how would you feel if you don't get to try MotionPlus until Christmas?

There are just so many great uses for Motion+, I'd be really sad if I don't get to fully enjoy the new EA golf & tennis games right away.

I wouldn't necessarily be dissappointed, but it would really screw over a lot of games. I mean, how would EA like to advertise "Tiger Woods 2010 with Motion Plus, but try it out this Christmas!"

I really think at this point Nintendo is practically obligated to release the add-on on time, the amount of 3rd-party support this is getting already forces their hand, lest they wish to piss off 3rd parties (which Nintendo has never been afraid to do, but in this case its a feature that the game has been developed around, yanked away)

Delayed yes. Til winter -- doubtful, unless the tech is giving out bugs.

Nintendo has made a big deal about not making announcements til products were close to being ready.

If this were delayed til winter, it would be 18 months from E3 2008 til product ship. That will not win them any friends among those who carp about Nintendo all the time but seem to give S-E the benefit of the doubt about the extra years it takes to produce FFXIII (I mean the gaming press and rabid fanboys).
