Forums - Nintendo - My Wii just died. What now?

My Wii just completely died on me just as i was getting into MP3. When i say died, i mean died, its off and will not switch on any more whatsoever. No way am i ever going to be able to get MP3 out of the machine either.

So what do i do now? Contact Nintendo and try to get it fixed, or should i just forget about that and get a new Wii?

What about all my VC and WW games. Are they lost for good?

Contact Nintendo...

Do you really have to ask? Fixing it will be alot less expensive, get you all your VC and save files back (most likely) etc., and the only negative is you'll be without your console for a short while.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Any idea how it died? Is the red light not coming on anymore? If not try unplugging the AC adapter from both the wall and the Wii, let it sit for an hour or two and try plugging it back in. Power surges tend to wig out the power brick for short bouts sometimes.

call nintendo!!!!

i did that!!! and i got a new one....which had MANY scratches!!!

Now you can graduate to a real man's console. Providence closes a door and opens a window and all that

All joking aside, Nintendo should be able to restore your WiiWare and VC accounts to a new console, if its completely broken. If not, they can probably revitalize it, but i would definitely check, like BrainBoxLtd said, how exactly it is broken

EDIT: I might add, however, that your save files are probably doomed if they have to replace the Wii itself.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

For the VC and Wiiware games, I'm sure they can replace them, and out it in the new Wii if you tell them you downloaded some games.

Contact Nintendo but try unplugging the AC adapter for a bit.
