Forums - Nintendo - Classic Controller Pro fixes complaints. So why are you still complaining?

Y not just make an improved GC controller. At least that was a decent gaming pad. This wanna be retro controllers look like just another way to milk people for their hard earned cash. Too bad it wont be able to compare with the Xbox 360 and PS3 controllers. Besides i thought the whole point of the wii was to be a completly different gaming experience with the wii mote???

I'm guessing a lot of the people complaining don't intend to get one of these in the first place and probably don't even own a Wii.

Just to clear this up. You can't play Gamecube games like Super Mario sunshine and Luigi's Mansion with digital shoulder buttons. So this most likely will not play Gamecube games.

Personally, I don't like the handles. They restrict the way you can hold the controller and make your hands sweaty if it's warm in the room. With the old Classic Controller you can hold it any way you want with any sized hands, plus the cord on the bottom is weird, but it actually makes more sense. The rows of shoulder buttons on the PRO work better though.

For me the Classic Controller is for SNES games and SNES games only, that's what it does and that's what it's good for. For N64 games I use a GC controller.

"Now, a fun game should always be easy to understand - you should be able to take one look at it and know what you have to do straight away. It should be so well constructed that you can tell at a glance what your goal is and, even if you don’t succeed, you’ll blame yourself rather than the game. Moreover, the people standing around watching the game have also got to be able to enjoy it." - Shiggy

Don't get me wrong, I'm only complaining because I was asked. I would have kept it to my self.

BTW, my peripheral complaint was aimed at gaming in general and not the Wii.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Well, I won't be surprised that the old Classic Controller will be axed after this one is released, resulting in a zero net changes in the total number of peripherals.

No rumble for Super Smash Bros. is my only gripe. I just hope more Wii games us it. It's hard playing some games while laying down.

I might check it out, but it has to work well with Gamecube stuff.

They should of honestly just re-released the GCN contorller as wireless with maybe slight imporvements to make it a bit bugger to hold.

ITs un uglier, wired and more unconfortable (by the looks of things) PS2 pad. Well done nintendo. Nintendo should labell everything that they are using from last gen "PRO".

Uglier PS2 pad?  I thought the PS2 pad was an uglier SNES pad with some N64 joysticks "tacked on."  Same with the PS1 and PS3 controllers, actually.

The Classic Controller is just Nintendo reclaiming their own perfect "dogbone" SNES design.  From 1990.

For everybody that is asking why it isn't more like a GameCube controller: Because it has to be able to play SNES games. Simple.

For people asking why GameCube games don't support it: It doesn't have analog shoulder buttons, the buttons have a different layout that would be awkward to use in some games and most importantly, when Wii is playing a GameCube game the system runs as a GameCube. Nintendo can't realistically change that..
