on topic: I wouldnt judge a game from just one or two reviewers, just wait until it gets official reviews.

I wouldn't even judge a review...reviewers are bias at times thats why I don't trust their reviews for nothing.

I'll reserve judgement until I've seen a review and possibly played the game.

However one valid point is the poor voice acting/ stiff expressions. Great textures, but with no life.

Strange... From the demos of the game it looks fantastic. I take it these guys have never heard of Oblivion because compared to that this game is simply amazing when it comes to facial expressions and dialogue.

I have complete faith in Bioware and will gladly bet anyone that Mass Effect will average 90+ on Gamerankings :)

Seems the guys are full of shit to me, just like other sites giving games like MP3 and bioshock low scores, trying to get more hits to there site.

BTW every video i have seen the voice acting is the best i have ever seen period. Graphics are some of the best as well. Only thing is combat, but that looks to be shaping up as well

I don't know what's worse, the people trying to dismiss the game already, or the people going into fanboy defense overdrive mode because someone had negative impressions of the game.

To be honest I have found Mass Effect to be pretty lackluster from the beginning, and the game's theme/genre/style falls into my tastes very well. Going by how pleased everyone was on this site with what they were seeing I basically just decided not to deal with the game since I didn't want to piss people off by just posting my plain and simple opinion. But with someone else voicing a similar opinion I feel like I should at least go on the record as saying I am not even remotely interested in this game. Hopefully if I comment down the road it won't seem like I am coming out of nowhere. I actually tried pretty hard to find something enjoyable about the game and I mean I really looked deep because it does suit my tastes on the surface.

Actually if you go over my posts I think this is one of the first times I have even talked about or mentioned the game, although if you go back far enough to the GoTY discussions I don't think I mentioned it at the time but part of my frustration with the GoTY awards was the fact that this game was doing so well and looked so bland to me.

I hope the game is great and you guys love it, but despite it being the perfect type of game for me I am just completely uninterested. Hopefully nobody takes offense to me having an opinion on the game, and I have tried to keep my comments tame but you never know what a fanboy is going to latch onto lol.

Anyways, I pretty much agree with their assessment.

PS - Before anyone gives me a hard time about the Bioshock/MP3 reviews and points to this as proof that some people don't like some games (which it is proof of). Just know that I would never write a review of a game I didn't like from the outset unless it completely changed my opinion. I would hope most  all professional reviewers are objective enough to turn down a review when they don't feel they can prevent their bias from affecting their score. All game's should be reviewed with a fair and open mind, I'm sure 360 fans wouldn't want me reviewing this game after reading this post any more than I would want a Metroid hating Xbot reviewing MP3
