Assuming these crazy people know what they're talking about, this would make sense. But I think the hard drive needs to be much bigger.......like 500GB or so. 100GB would get filled up rather quickly........3/4 games (if nothing is compressed).

how exactly does an analyst even make comments like that? in theory at least, they should have a basic understanding of what they are talking about. so he should know that such a thing would be impossible without it being their next gen console. which still looks unlikely.

Sony is probably more likely to release a PS3 without a power supply than one without Blu-Ra...

Can you remove the BR player without removing the ability to remove BR data disks?

That is the question -- and I would think it would be no. But then again, I don't know how much is being included in the movie playback end of the hardware.

What truly makes no sense though is that Sony went with this format to defeat HD-DVD. Now that is has won that "war" -- taking such an action does not seem to make any sense because they lose a key console selling point.

This talk is one of the DUMBEST things going out there. Supposed "experts" in the industry with investment firms float this, based on financials, and with almost no understanding of the videogame industry. Individuals around Wall Street just don't understand this business. You know this when an individual like Jim Kramer guys a buy on the stock of Gamestop.
