Forums - Website Topics - Should Brett Charge A One Time $5 Fee To Post In Forums??

Bad Idea, I mean terrible idea.

Around the Network

Vgchartz has already made a killing on "ioi: The Game" and "Brett: The Game". I bought 3 copies!! Why should we all have to suffer because they spent the money on expensive scotch, cheap hookers, cheap scotch, expensive hookers, and the Zune? Charge a $5 fee, and we'll NEVER beat the high score!!

Not to post - no. But maybe a Premium service where premium members have to have a certain post count - no bannings - and pay $5 and get access to some premium member only forums and fancy name colour and maybe some special insider information.

Id pay. But i dont want too

No, absolutely not.

Although an option to pay for something premium would be fine, especially when the money goes to the better of Brett and VGChartz.

Didn't SomethingAwful do this for a while?

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

Well, we already have that (sort of).

The idea still sucks; the sales figures and forums are the two big things that make this site special. Restricting access to either would lose the big advantages and therefore reduce new and current users.

not a good idea.

this would shrink the community to a pitiful number. it would drive away any potential newcomers.

if it's to remove ads, then there needs to be more annoying ads... which i'm not in favour of.

donate button or reminders to click ads or certain # of ads need to be clicked to post for a month.
