Yeahh... well lets see of the 28 million X360 owners only 17 million are active on LIVE so that leaves 11 million people who won't be able to download the demo due to unknown reasons..

well last I checked H3 sold 9 million so its safe to safe a few million halo loyals haven't played it..

One last thing, I can tell you. From the bottom of my heart, that absolutely NO professional game developer EVER. Would want their product sold from mis-advertising, lies, and deceiving the customer. These are game developers, not con-artists. People saying that Halo Wars is being marketed like a FPS, think about what you're saying. Are you really willing to believe that Microsoft has some conspiracy theory to boost their sales by a couple thousand? Ten Thousand? Maybe hundred-thousand if you think that many would buy into this?

Yep, but that was only through the first couple of days of the demo being out there. Has it stopped being downloaded? Also, I am quite sure there are a number of people who did not download it because they were not interested in the product.

Then there is magazine coverage, word of mouth from friends, Gamestop, the INTERNET, the BACK OF THE BOX, etc. You are looking at ONE facet(which actually tells people to try out the game) of an ad campaign .

I don't know about you, but for me when I do make a game purchase of around $60 bucks I do a little research.   Why would anyone buy something they have absolutely no clue about?  When was the last time you walked into a gamestop and just picked a game up and bought with no knowledge of?

Halo Wars will end up doing exactly what the original Halo did for FPS's.  It will be the biggest selling RTS for a console ever and it won't be because people don't know what it is.

this may be true for say a new IP but when you have a name like halo you basically know exactly what your getting..

I see what you mean, but considering how many spin-offs there are for Final Fantasy and Mario, I don't really know what to expect anymore.

I also wonder actually, how many halo fans will be turned into RTS players due to Halo Wars? All because it's not a FPS doesn't mean its going to be universally rejected by Halo Fans. If anything, as said previously in this thread. Halo Wars will do for Console RTS what Halo: Combat Evolved did for Console FPS.
