I finally reached the end of the queue and played the placement match. Seemed ok but it won't let me search for internet games at the moment.

 

I've never actually played Quake 3 or Quake Arena or whatever this is based on. Any tips from those of you who have?!

Here I was all excited to try this, and then I realize I'm in a queue. It moved from 14k something to 13k something pretty quick though, I'm hoping it's not that slow.

EDIT - Finally got through the queue, it didn't take long. Unfortunately Firefox crashes before entering the placement match. How disappointing. Maybe I'll try with IE later.

So now it's finally working what does everyone think about this game? It's certainly knocked my confidence in my skills! I feel I'm ok at fps games in general, and I was just starting to be able to take out more people in Team Fortress 2, then I tried this game and I was slaughtered!!! It's either too fast or I'm too slow, and sadly I know which one is more likely.

This game and UT2004 are the newest shooters that really test your raw skill in FPS games. Sadly I'm out of touch myself since I haven't played an FPS in months....

Just gave this a go. For some reason I can't comprehend, it made me do the training twice. I also couldn't figure out how to play a private match with a friend so I quit. Nice concept, but i doubt i'll ever play it again.

I don't think this will become very big. I'm not saying other, more modern and innovative browser games can't, but not Quake Live.

I gave it a try, and this really is an old ass game. The game modes are so simple and boring, I gave it an hour but I won't return. I rememberd that I never liked it in '99 either.

BTW, Quake was already killed by CS ages ago.

CS is where chobs went to shoot people in the back because they got destroyed in quake and UT.
