UK Video Game Chart: SF4 sets sales record

Becomes the fastest-selling traditional beat 'em up since the All Formats Chart began in 1997.

Chart Track reports that Capcom's Street Fighter IV has entered the All Formats All Prices chart at No.1, with 53 per cent of sales on PS3 and 47 per cent on Xbox 360. The game becomes the fastest-selling traditional beat 'em up since the All Formats Chart began back in 1997.

Sales of Wii Fit were up 20 per cent, but it has to settle for second place in the chart. The next highest new entry comes from THQ's Dawn of War II at No.3, followed by D3P's Ben 10: Alien Force which is up from No.13 to No.4. FIFA 09 holds at No.5, CoD: World at War falls to No.6 and SEGA's Mega Drive Ultimate Collection is new at No.7.

Mario Kart Wii falls to No.8, Wii Play slides to No.9 and Warner's F.E.A.R. 2 drops to No.10 following its debut week at No.2. Atari's Race Pro is new at No.13 and SEGA's House of the Dead: Overkill sees a 30 per cent increase during its second week, but can't climb out of 15th place. THQ's 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand is the chart's fifth new entry, although at No.22 it can't match Bulletproof's No.5 debut.

There are two games to watch out for next week: Killzone 2 and Halo Wars. We're pretty sure Killzone 2 will win out, but don't underestimate the pull of the Halo brand.

good to see street fighter doing well.

although split sales on ps3 and 360 are more or less same, why do you feel ps3 version edged out 360 version?

i was playing this online with a psn buddie of mine and game is really great.

i do hower feel game is a bit on the quick side and chars are to big but thats just imo.

another thing i noticed is that home clothing gets unlocked as rewards when you win matches in a row.

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

And that's with a million difference in userbase. Go PS3!

I wonder who wins though, Halo or KZ2...

Great Job SF! Next Great Fighter is Tekken 6. That will do really well especially in Japan and Europe

Dpad on PS3 won over 360 by the looks of things. I'd get it on PS3 if I didn't have a custom controller for my 360...

Actually scratch that...I wouldn't get it at all. All my freinds are on the 360.

Also reasons like 360 piracy, copies available form capcom could have something to do with this...

Awesome it deserves it.

And in Blazes words next up Tekken 6

Odd how the PS3 version did better. I'm guessing we'll see a repeat with Tekken 6.
