Was it?  It's been years since I played Earthbound so I don't remember that.  I remember Pokey being a jerk at the end though.

If he did specifically say that then you win the argument.  Otherwise my comparison of Giygas to a disabled person stands.

Let me check...

"Giygas cannot think rationally anymore, and he isn't even aware of what he's doing now. His own mind was destroyed by his incredible power. What an all-mighty idiot!"

And even then, a disabled person can be insane too, if we take "insane" to mean possessing mental schema which differ too far from the norm.

Fair enough.  Nice debating with you.

...now I feel like replaying Earthbound if for no other reason than to show that Ness is really the true 3rd strongest kid around.

That's not possible, you see, because I am the third strongest.

I believe I am the third strongest amongst us. Take your best shot!

Verus from Baten Kaitos Origins, I guess? Ratatosk Emil sometimes. Oh, and Zidane from FF IX (that near-end scene where he tried to save Kuja...I was like "WTF are you doing?" lol). RPGs don't have many (or at least enough) insane characters.

Now, if this was an anime discussion, I could make a whole list.

Soriku have you considered that you experience with JRPGs may be very, very limited?

Double post..

Only Three Possibilities:

1) Giygas: Went nuts (prolly due to a magicant) and has no capability to control himself any more. "It .....feels......GOOD....." and "NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS"

2) Kefka: Just plain nuts

3) Luca Blight: Psychotic, enjoys killing for the hell of it.

No. I just find the lack of insane characters very limited :3 Plus, I haven't played Earthbound like you (I should emulate them sometime) :P

What I mean is that insane characters are everywhere in JRPGs. They are one of the trops of the genre.

None of those characters you mentioned (Zidane? Um no) are even close to the most insane. They don't even really hold a candle. Soriku, you need to play some old school stuff!

Albedo of Xenosaga.

I second this. Albedo was a real nutjob
