You know that without playing the game, nor any Tales game before?

Tales stories are good. And this game's story will be good too.

I wouldn't really go down this path with him. Raichu has a bad habit of using other people's opinions as facts to fuel arguments against things he really has no place to talk about. Not offense of course. It's just that sometimes he feels like a VGC version of Vegh Esther.

Beautiful trailer. I must say I really wasn't too excited for this but that's moderately increased. I must say it looks like a solid JRPG right now.

looks great, cant wait

I've played a lot more JRPGs than Tales. Who do you think I am? Tales games always have good stories.

Do you want me to get shadowblind and the rest of the gang about Tales stories?

Go right ahead.  But you aren't changing any preset opinions I have.

The character designs don't have the universal appeal that Kosuke Fujishima's work on Tales does.

lol, coming from a guy who's never played a Tales game in his life, this is pretty funny.

Fujishima has universal appeal? Yeah, I wish. I don't think he gets enough appeal. Most people care about Nomura a lot more (not that I mind though, I love Nomura's designs).

Maybe Fujishima's work on Tales isn't that well known but his work on the manga Ah My Goddess! is.

@ClaudeLv250

What bad habit?  All I did  was saying what I heard from other people.  I wasn't even trying to state them as fact.

Oh wait what? Wow, I never knew Aa! Megami-sama had same artist/designer as ToS :o

Weird thread. ARF is looking better but I had decided I'd be getting it a while ago. I like JRPGs and there are too few for the Wii right now to miss supporting this one.

Tales stories are mediocre, not awful. They're full of cliches and they won't be winning any awards in my book but they're fairly entertaining once you lower your expectations a bit.

Code Geass is a good anime with a solid plot and very nice animation. I don't like Ledouche though. He makes too many mistakes to be as cocky as he is IMO.

That is what I heard of other people concerning the stories in the series.  If you are so sure that the stories in Tales are good, then you should play other JRPGs.  I can garentee you that there are atleast a few JRPG stories you would like more than anything in Tales.

I'm going to go with Soriku on this one, Tales of games have amazing storylines. Often people say that Symphonia was poorly paced, I disagree. Once you get into the meat of the story, the game progresses along amazingly and I've never felt a dull moment in the game. The same could be said for Final Fantasy 7, alot of people view midgar as the slow part of the game until you get into the meat of the story but there's no dull moments in that game either.

Riachu, I'm tellin' ya. Pick up a tales of game, any one of em really. You can't make your opinion's based on the views of others then defend them as your own. You'll never know, if you do like the tales of series. Then good for you, if you don't. Well at least you can say you've played a few before, therefor we can respect your opinion on the series a bit more.

That being said, Arc Rise fantasia looks good, I can't help but notice the battle's seem a bit slow. Its hard to get a clear picture however based on a little under what, 2 minutes of battle-gameplay footage? I'll be keeping my eye on this one.

Why must JRPG female leads suck so bad?

Tales of Symphonia and Final Fantasy VII are poorly paced.

To be fair though, it's hard to keep good pacing when you alternate "Go here, do XYZ" with "Go wherever, do as you like, then do XYZ to progress the story."
