Tales of Symphonia and Final Fantasy VII are poorly paced. 

To be fair though, it's hard to keep good pacing when you alternate "Go here, do XYZ" with "Go wherever, do as you like, then do XYZ to progress the story."

I suppose your right. I havn't played neither game in a long time.
