Forums - Gaming Discussion - 7 Games that changed the World

http://videogames.yahoo.com/events/7-games-that-changed-the-world/7-games-that-changed-the-world/1285449

Sorry if this has been posted before and the article is a little old.

1. Pong (1975)
2. Pac-Man (1980)
3. Doom (1993)
4. Dance Dance Revolution (1998)
5. World Of Warcraft (2004)
6. Guitar Hero (2005)
7. Wii Sports (2006)

I'd have to agree completely with this list. If the list was a little longer I would also add Street Fighter II along with them for I feel SF impacted the fighting genre in video games.  And Super Mario Bros. somewhere in that list.

Do you agree with the list? Disagree with some of them? What other games do you feel should also be added to the list?

Super Mario Bros.

Super Mario 64

The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

should of made it a top 10.

I like the list mostly. Super mario bros should be on the list. Also, I think Final Fantasy should be on their before WOW because WOW was influenced by Final Fantasy (or Dragon Warrior, I believe DW came first).

Also, I would say that Goldeneye (N64) had more of an influence on the industry than Wii Sports and Guitar Hero.

I'd throw the Sims in there for DDR and then call it quits

Huh... Guitar Hero, didn't see that coming.
I would add SMB though.

super mario bros. should be on with super mario 64.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

I'm not sure about Guitar Hero deserving a spot on the list.

Replace Guitar Hero (dance dance I think covers the rhythm genre) with Super Mario Bros Otherwise, I agree.
