Wassi (JJ) Wii Music -Super Mario Bros

I did not really care for this game. I saw the E3 demo and I was not interested. After seeing these videos and more. Wii music has become one of my must have games.

I've never played Wii Music, but it looks fantastic. Can you actually choose what notes to play, or which piece of the drum set to hit? Or is it purely rhythm based, where you just time the movements and the game hits the right notes for you?

Either way it looks fun.

Nice! I'd buy it but my funds are low..

Pixel Art can be fun.

wfz asked: Can you actually choose what notes to play, or which piece of the drum set to hit?

Yes you can choose the notes to play and choose the which part of the drum to hit.

"Well, it's all about improvising to the songs, and not playing them accurately. That's where all the depth comes in. Not only can you change the instruments and style around, but you can just play the song differently, and if you do that for all the parts, you can make the song sound entirely different."---Dreamwriter

Here is a video lesson teaching drumming in Wii music:

the music in the drumming videos isn't in the game but the drumming is tho :)

to make one thing clear the mario bros and twinkle video is made by people who had a lot of practise with wii music, a noob coudnt do that.

u can change the speed, u can chose when the instrument plays or stops, u can change the ptch of the notes. All in all u can improvise a lot and be creative.

even tho u cant really chose the notes u can still change of how and when the notes are played which can change a song quite a bit.  -> hard to explain when u havent checked it out for urself

Highlighted the correct answer. There is limited pitch control for some instruments. For example, you can bend a guitar note up and down with the thumbstick. There are other modifiers you can apply to notes depending on the instrument, like cutting the note short or playing a chord instead of a single note.

It's still waggle for five year old kids.

I know what I am talking about, although I haven't played the game, but a friend of mine knows someone who watched a video of someone playing it.

You rock :D

Indeed... the game is awesome!

I think Nintendo should of had recognizable rockstars play music using Wii music to promote the game and demonstrate its features. I think the game would have sold a lot better and more people would have understood what the game was about, even the guys over at IGN.

Hey Dazkarieh, do you still have the link to your old Wii Music thread? I won't pretend that I'm good enough to make great videos, but some of the folks there were amazing. And ramuji sent me a video a few weeks ago that really rubs my lack of skill in my face...

Anyhow, make sure to pick it up at some point, patjuan. It is, indeed, good.

Its a pretty odd game. I have struggled to find time to play it properly. I think its definitely a game that people "into music" (i.e. playing music) will enjoy more.
