I dont quite get it, whats the difference between this and a demo?

Being charged money for a demo doesnt stop it being a demo - it just makes it a demo I wouldnt get. 

If its free that is great news, i would still of paid for it anyways. In one of the video's the guy said it takes 6months to make each car, 200k poly's per car can't wait :)

In GT on the harder modes (read: the only real modes) a crash is the end anyway. Heck, a tire over a curb or in the grass is the end of a hard race or trial. So why care if there is a damage simulation, it's a racing sim not a Demolision Derby.

Its a good idea. I almost wouldn't be surprised if the full version of GT ends up free - or at least budget (hard to give away something free that is boxed).

Sony will make a heap of money from downloadable tracks, cars, AI(?) and anything else they might want to distribute digitally.

Plus at this point, anything that boosts PS3 sales will be a bonus.

I can't see this being a huge seller/drawcard though. GT4-HD is already available as a download. And there isn't exactly a shortage of racers on the market - and with PGR4, NFS:ProStreet, Midnight Club all hitting in the coming months. And the next Burnout hitting early next year.

Plenty of racing available for every platform.

Alright, I'll stop there. Buy pieces of our game seems kinda, iffy to me, then again, this is definately not a game for me, but if you need to buy an incomplete game, well...

Of course you cant, but shams theres  a freking difference in palying single palyer and playing with 16 other people online for free.

Plenty racing games of not GT quality available. 

This is a pretty big deal. If they advertise this enough they could make some bank. Really, a GT demo is as big as many full racing games. To give for free what others have in the past charged $50 for is brilliant, if marketed correctly.

This is an awsome deal. I was completely ready for them to say it would be 14.99 USD. They are probably making it free cause they will no longer support online in prologe after GT5 hits. If that is the case it would totally make sense for it to be free as prologes only real value is 16 player online, and mabye the GTTV deal if it is running when it arrives.

This is the game for everyone that is interested in cars. It will be ineresting how games like Midnight Club, NFS, PGR, Forza, and Dirt will fair after GT comes out. Really there is no reason for any other racing game untill a PS4 GT comes out once this hits. If Polyphony adds the bikes this game would be done. For the first time in my life I am looking at a game and thinking, this is it, I will never need another. In fact I don't think I even care if it looks better or if it gets more cars online. Basically what we have here is the perfect game.
