@ benvtrigger, I would certainly be interested in a Pendulum wars game, I would be interested in more back story, but I don't think they can extend Delta's tale beyond a 3rd game

yeah definatley Gears could use some better story telling no doubt but I don't think they want to over do it. After all they are trying to deliver a summer blockbuster feel for the games and as we all know most films like that are about the explosions and action more than the storytelling. That being said love him or hate him Cliff is seriously one of the best Game designers out there.

yeah I agree I couldn't realistically see there being more than a 3rd installment in Delta Squads story. Thats gonna be pretty depressing when it ends though. Thats the brilliant thing about Gears is that even though they are huge steroid testosterone dudes you really do start to feel like your part of Delta in those games. I always though it would be cool if they released a side game where instead of seeing all the stuff in Gears 1 and 2 from Marcus and Dom it was all Cole and Baird. Through much of those games the two groups are in completley different areas and you know Cole and Baird were up to some crazy as hell stuff.

Oh yeah, the story telling needs to be seriously improved, in Gears they basically missed out a large chunk of the story that they did not have time to fit into the game, and later became part of the PC version

I don't hate Cliff in anyway.  They definitely don't want to over do it.

Don't you sort of hate him for being so incredibly arrogant, but love him for the fact he makes great games

oh no I wasn't saying you hate him at all. It was just a general statement cause alot of people do hate him because at times he comes off as arogant and in interviews he always looks extremley pissed off. I was just saying that either way he makes darn good games and is really great at game mechanics.

He's a great game designer but as a person, I have mixed feelings about him.  I personally prefer Kojima since he makes great games as well as having modest personality.  He is also a perfectionist which is both a strength and a flaw.

Yeah, I much prefer Kojima as a person, he seems really humble. Though as you say, his desire for perfection means we will have to wait ages for his next game, hopefully ZOE 3!
