Hrm... that would definitely be something to celebrate. *goes to Party City*

Still, let's save the good champagne for when it outsells the NES. It's alright though, I've still got some apple juice for this party!

SNES shipped (and sold) 49.08M

The Wii is at 46.43M

Gap: 2.65M

 

Needed weekly to make it in 4 weeks: 663K

 

Last week's sales: 410K

Week before that: 514K

 

Needed to make it in 5 weeks: 530K

 

Needed to make it in 6 weeks: 442K

 

 

I'm going to guess it should make it in 6 weeks.

 

And for when it outsells the NES, I expect it to be in Oct/Nov 09 (after around 12 seconds of thinking).

So early? I wonder if they'll have a commemorative, special edition Wii. With dollar bills engraved all over it.

Nah, it's happening this year. The NES sold 62.5 million. The will probably pass that mark before the third quarter of 2009 is over.
