Forums - Nintendo - Capcom still trying to bring Capcom Vs. Tatsunoko to North America

A portion of a Joystiq interview with Seth Killian, Community Manager at Capcom…

J: Have you guys thought about creating another Versus game for the Wii or another console for Western audiences?

SK: Well, we have Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.

J: What’s happening with that one?

SK: We are really trying to bring it, so there are some different options that are on the table as far as licensing goes and trying to figure out a way to bring the game over. We are fighting that battle very heavily.

We know Vs. are great games. Obviously Marvel vs. Capcom … those were great games. We would love to revisit something like that. Again, complicated lawyers, man; that is basically the bottom line. But yes, we love the Vs. games, and Tatsunoko is a testament to that.

If so I will wet my pants....and most likely won't change them....

Former something....

i hope they do!

tatsunoko vs capcom is a really great game, i really hope we see it on this shores

Im feeling a little Street Fighter tired lately...with the SSF2HD and SF4 which I played for 4 hours last night (That boss Seth is a bitch)

But this is good news for Wii only owners...or people that like MArvel VS Capcom style of fighting.

Around the Network

It would be great to see it but so few of those Tatsunoko characters are known here.

Again: Exactly how many different groups can own the rights to Tatsunoko properties?

Can somebody put a list together?
Edit: Ok, here goes

Gatchaman Characters: No current American owners, the last deal with one Sandy Frank of ADV Films apparently elapsed back in 2007, and the series has since remained in legal limbo
Casshern: Falls into the same boat
Tekkaman: One William Winckler shares the rights with Congress Video and LD Video
Yatterman: Can't find any data
Hurricane Polymer was apparently only ever localized into Italian by some network called Italia 1
Gold Lightan: No Data
Karas is licensed by Manga Entertainment in USA, Canada, and UK
Hakushon Daimao: No Data
Ippatsuman: No Data

My guess is that Tekkaman and Gatchaman are creating the controversies, everything else seems relatively clear cut, at least for America.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

i hope this game , comes to the states. i want to buy this game , mainly for casshan:robot hunter.

That's great. I'm glad Capcom is making a serious effort. The Wii really needs this game to come out over here.

I'd buy it day one.

well...hopefully they will bring it
