Forums - Sony - 3 New FFXIII Characters revealed

First a female Cloud, now Biggs, Wedge and Jessie return. I'm sure they will end up dead before the quarter way point in this game.

Playing: InFamous, Super Robot Taisen OG Saga, Modern Warfare 2

Well if we are lucky those ugly characters get shot in first few hours of the game...
...with their own guns.

As a rule of thumb, the only people to really die during the opening of an RPG are: the main character's direct family, nameless NPCs who don't matter, and possibly everyone in the main character's home town. Anyone else dying will probably miraculously resurface during the game.

Would not be the first rule they broke since FFXII. Like: never make ALL your main character boring as hell. FF XII broke this rule successfully.

Best character ever.

People just hate FF XII because it didn't have a crappy love story.

I hate it, and I can assure you that's not my reason.

Or maybe because some of us thought the characters, story, etc... was just boring and I won't even get into the MMO style battle system it had.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

FF12 was the foundation of an awesome battle-system. Too bad fans shunned it... it's sorta like windwalker's celshading. It still looks better than TP.

Now we are back to field-combat-field transitions. FFXII was so fluid for a japanese RPG.

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

another female...this pleases me greatly.

FFXII was still turned-based, even if you could move around.

I never said I hated the battle system or any of the other changes SQE did.

No it wasn't...

Yes it was. You could move around, but you couldn't dodge, and you had to wait for a bar to fill before you could attack. It's either turned-based or the worst non-turned-based battle system EVUR!

This is extremely old news, but it still bothers me how Square put in a "token" black character for marketing/image purposes when most Japanese people have never even seen a black man face to face.

Sometimes I feel like it isn't "Final Fantasy" anymore.

Too much of this "Westernizing" crap. How depressing.

I hear you man. I'm not liking these changes either. It's like their draining the charm out of the series. (exceptions to certain handheld titles)

2005: Hype level 10
2006: Hype level 9
2007: Hype level 8
2008: Hype level 7
2009: Hype level 4

When this game is released it will probably be hype level 1 for me.

It looks worse and worse every single time they reveal anything new about this game....

I still have a bit of hope. I'd say mine is a 6.5 right now. The level has certainly declined as yours has.

Person 2: Wait! It's amazing! Unique, charming, drop dead gorgeous... Hello?
