How's it different from paying for downloadable content later on? At least this way you don't have to waste time downloading.

I'm sorry, I just hate the feeling of never buying the full game..

Yeah, I don't disagree that it sucks have to pay for downloadable content later on (especially when it's something as stupid as horse armor) but if you bitch about this you might as well just bitch about downloadable content in general.

Well, it is mostly rubbish, but I would much prefer if they added in extra content that they did not have time to include in the game, or to respond to what the fans want, so in Burnout Paradise they added extra freeburn challenges as their stats said that was what was being played the most, but just adding extra maps for MP is a bit rubbish.

I would also like something experimental, once again going back to BP, adding in bikes, as that was something they had always thought about doing, as it certainly added some life to the game

I might be wrong, but I think SCIV had it, no? I think both the special downloadable characters were on the disc, but only one got unlocked (depending on what console you had).

SE did it for the WiiWare Final Fantasy. Those 2 are the only examples so far that I recall.

 FF:MLaK isn't on a hard disc.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Nintendo has also done it with Professor Layton.

Except the Layton "downloadable" puzzles were free.  They were just giving you the unlock code once per week.

Street Fighter 4 is a prime example of this

EA do it with the NFS games. They charge you to unlock stuff that you can get for free by playing the game normally.

The single use code for the last boss/level is not that bad an idea. If it stops the used market then games would in theory sell a lot more new copies and would therefore be able to be sold cheaper in the first place.

Namco did this already with beautiful katamari about 25% is locked

and I think Sega did it with the Virtua Fighter 5 downloadable content
