Microsoft recently sent out a survey asking gamers how they feel about Achievements. Towards the end, one of the questions asked how you would feel about certain Achievement types. One of the options is fairly interesting.

Providing Achievements for non-gaming uses of your Xbox 360 (e.g., “The Film Buff: You’ve watched 50 DVD’s”)

"G) In-game rewards " - A couple Mass Effect Achievements did offer in game rewards

They are really trying to get people hooked on every facet of the 360 I guess. There are many achievement whores out there and they would probably love this stuff.

I think it's a neat idea to have some non-gaming achievements, but I don't think they should go towards your gamer score, for obvious reasons.

Excellent idea. Netflix achievements please. Maybe some Zune ones too. Heck yeah.

Get this up on GFW Live, too--The "It looks like you're writing a letter..." achievement for shutting down Mr. Paper Clip!

It would make me watch more movies or play with my avatar more.

Awesome. I can see it now.

Achievement unlocked: Love Machine. You had sexual relations with your xbox.

Achievement unlocked: Lucky SOB. Your xbox survived a year without getting the RROD.

PS. This is a joke post obviously. I kind of like the idea.
