Forums - Nintendo - Destructiod sticks up for Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop

In a recent blog entry Jonathan Homes of Destructiod sticks up for Capcom's decision to bring Dead Rising to the Wii.

I pretty much agree with everything he says, although I havn't played the 360 version where he has.

Here is a quote:

Like I said in a recent Cblog, if Chop Til You Drop sucks, I'll be the first one to tear it apart. But no matter how the game turns out, I'll respect Capcom for attempting this remake. They are trying to fix a game that they not only feel was unappreciated the first time, but that they themselves didn't like as much as they wanted to. That takes a lot of guts, and it's a shame that more people don't get that.

I only need to look at these two videos to know that Capcom failed in the way they ported Dead Rising.

so ya, i may actually get this game. yes it'll be way different from the original, but that doesn't mean it will be bad. it'll be more "horror" and less "mowing downs tons of pitiful defenseless zombies like there's no tomorrow".

come try out the computer game i've been working on for my high school senior project, titled sling ball. http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=47568

Dead Rising is one of those games that just can not be done with Wii because its lack of power.

Yes it can be made, if only Capcom would have invested effort in it.

Unappreciated? It sold almost 2 million copies!

And how're they going to "fix" this game with the Wii? I don't consider a downgrade "fixing".

I am with Capcom on this one,i think it's stupid that people assume they would reduce the number of zombies on the screen on purpose just to piss Wii owner off.

They are trying to port a 360 on a console that basically have the power of a Gamecube,of course it will be dumbed down people.

Power of a GameCube? I never knew it could do Super Mario Galaxy level graphics.

Look at the second video I posted, the PS2 was able to have 100 enemies on screen at the same time.

If RE4 can be made, then this can be made as well. The difference: effort vs no effort.

Yeah. PS2 was able to do that but the zombies were more of statues that move than creatures with own will.
