Forums - Nintendo - Rumor: Next Kingdom Hearts to be Wii Exclusive

Eh Soriku, may I ask you something, did you even "ever" played Kingdom Hearts? Perhaps the COM game on the GBA. Or else... why do you want it so much on the WII, while you have never played any of the PS2 games? This also means to all the Nintendo "only" fans out there. Assuming you never have owned a PS2. So... don't be surprised when Playstation fans just don't wish to see one of the most precious franchises on the Playstation console hitting a Nintendo console (or handheld). Same thing happened with DQIX. Though my opinion is that the step to a DS is not as radical than to a WII, as a DS is far more approachable. Plus Dragon Quest has been on Nintendo consoles / handhelds in the past, but Kingdom Hearts, never.... apart from the spin off game.

A lot of PS2 owners simply don't own a WII and are not even planning to buy one, but are waiting to purchase a PS3. Among them are also Kingdom Hearts fans. I don't think once Kingdom Hearts will hit the WII, it will make these people cross over to the WII instead of to the PS3.

well said *~Onna76~*. i completely agree. "A lot of PS2 owners simply don't own a WII and are not even planning to buy one, but are waiting to purchase a PS3. Among them are also Kingdom Hearts fans."
i said that in my previous post but got bashed for it. they just dont want to hear it. o well. they will be angry when it is announced a PS3 exclusive soon.

Cant wait till Assassins Creed!

Might I point out one simple quick thing.... Disney is exclusively making for Nintendo(forget where I read it I'll try to dig up the article.)... Disney owns Kingdom Hearts

1 + 1 does equal 2 still right?

I mean the chances of it coming on the PS3 or even PS2 do exist yes, but if it's announced for Wii or DS I will be far from shocked...

You forget another thing... "Square Enix". Disney owns the Disney characters in the game, but not the entire game, as Square Enix "still" own the Final Fantasy characters. A mix of Final Fantasy and Disney characters, that's what the game is all about. It's a coorperation between Disney and Square Enix. In this case it's not entirely up to Disney to decide where Kingdom Hearts is going to, Square Enix has just as much or even more to say about that as well.

PS2 owners aren't waiting for Wii because the majority of PS2 owners don't follow brand loyalty. They follow games. That's why there can be different market leaders and that's generally how it works and why the Wii is selling so much.

I'm a PS2 owner and I have a Wii, but I'm not waiting on PS3 because there's really nothing to wait on, especially in the case of KH where for all intents and purposes it could most likely end up on Wii, not just because of sales but also because of Square's problems developing on the PS3.

Uh, SE has 3 exclusives for the Wii. And don't make me whip out the DS.

Xbox360:

Project Sylpheed

Wii:

Final Fantasy: Chrystal Chronicles: Crystal Bearers
Chocobo's Dungeon: The City of Forgotten Time
Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors

PS3:

Final Fantasy XIII
Final Fantasy XIII Vs.

Sony definitely has the most significant exclusives in Final Fantasy XIII and its spinoff, but it's not nearly as clearcut this generation as it was last. And given Square's statement that they won't make any more PS3 games (beyond those already in production) until the user base grows significantly, I assume the love will be even further spread around. I'd still call them PS3-centric (in terms of home consoles, at least), but again, not nearly as clear a Sony focus as there was, say, 4 years ago.

Consider, for example, that the original Xbox got zero games from Square Enix at all. None. Nothing. Now, they have Final Fantasy XI, Project Sylpheed, and Last Remnant, one of which is a 360 exclusive, all within the first two years of the console's existance. Is that enormous amounts of love? No. But going from "nothing" to "a decent amount of support" is a noticable shift.

@ClaudLv250: You've got a point there. But tell that to the die hard Playstation fans, who won't give up Playstation that easily, like Nintendo fans didn't during the N64 / GC cycle.

Gamers have the entire change in gaming to thank for, they make sure people with a PS3 are waiting for games, as games are going multi platform (DMC 4) or becoming timed exclusive for another console at first (Ace Combat 6). All because developers find the console too expensive for buyers, comparing to a WII, too expensive to develop, comparing to a WII, and therefore all of the sudden less approachable, comparing to the WII. Therefore, no wonder why die hard PS fans curse the WII, as the WII made the entire change in gaming.

Personally as multi platform gamer, have to get used to the entire changes, as games are switching, developers adapt their future plans and that kind of confusing me. I'm a RPG / Adventure fan, and got an entire collection of those kind of games on the PS2, including 2 Kingdom Hearts games. Therefore I can't really get myself used to the idea of a WII release, even though I own a WII and I think there are more people out there who might feel the same way about that.

@PersianPrince35, FFIII (DS), FFIV (DS), FFCC Bearers (WII), FFVII Crisis Core (PSP), DQS (WII), Heroes of Mana (DS), DQIX (DS), DQ Monsters Joker (DS),... etc.etc.

@Bodhesatva: White Knight Story is a Sony Computer Entertainment published game (created by Level 5), not a Square Enix ;)
