Forums - Microsoft - How do you downgrade from NXE to the Blades completely?

Zomb1337 said:
WHY?! NXE is so easy to navigate & find stuff, Primetime channel is coming and Avatars are fun to play with.

I hate avatars. I hate all the new channels I have to scroll past to get to anythign useful. I hate how much useless crap is there that does nothing but obscure the location of what I want to find. I don't know what this primetime channel is, but I will probably hate it as well. I hate the ugly ass interface and do not use a single one of the added features. I hate the NXE and really wish they would let me switch back to the old interface. At least I have the guide button to make it tolerable.

If you press the guide button you get the mini blades...

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

What you would have to do is buy an infectus mod chip for your 360 and mod you system. with the chip I believe there is an exploit that allows you to do this. You may be also able to downgrade it with a softmod but I'm not sure of that option.

Keep in mind you may be tempted to start "backing up" your games if you choose this option

Buy an older 360 and don't take it online!

My sister and her husband haven't taken their 360 online. I played "Open Season" (?) on Sunday, and the nostalgia of seeing the old Blades hit me pretty hard. The NXE IS better, but it would have been nice to have a choice.

I don't believe that you can, at least not without doing something like taking out the hard drive and possibly flashing it with an ghost copy of an old bladed 360 hard drive, but I don't know.

I still have the blades on my old 360 Core system w/20gb hdd. I just haven't had it connected to the internet since I got my Elite. It's just sitting in the "Elite" box at the moment wasting away, hehe.

Yeah, just using the guide is the best way, I find it mostly useless, there is just so much pointless rubbish on there it is really annoying, but you can just get straight to a game by hitting RT to take you to the right section

X360's firmware upgrades burn fuses in the motherboard. You can't downgrade it.

edit: I just found out pre-falcons are vulnerable to a timing attack which allows a downgrade... details at http://beta.ivancover.com/wiki/index.php/Xbox_360_Timing_Attack

My only real complaint is the stupid lag/pause you get when going to your friends list from certain games and the dashboard. Makes it impossible to be in a multiplayer game and quickly go to your friends list without dying unless your in a total safe spot, and just annoying overall.

It's just that simple.

You cant go back. There is no hacks available that would let you do this once NXE is installed.

I'd be interested to hear why you want to downgrade.

You were having controller battery draining issues weren't you? I think I'm having the same issue.
