To answer the OP, GOW became a system seller when PS3 started to need system sellers, it is as simple as that. At the beginning of the Gen Sony didn't look to FF13, GOW3, Resistance 2, GT5, and Killzone 2 to sell system, they expected to already have a huge install base and for these games to be sold because of systems not to sell system. Now they are looked to as "system sellers" because sony fans (and I am sure sony themselves) wants more of their systems sold and they know something has to do it.

Why the hell do people care if PS3 fans feel like hyping their games?

Find something else to worry about, it isn't healthy. You are only going to live a disappointing life if you continue to worry about things you can not control.

gow3 is looking damn fine, and guess what its on ps3 only.

no-one would spam forums on how great so4 and halo wars are, simply because there not that great unlike killzone 2 which is looking superb.

and can you explain how halo wars is better than killzone 2 based on the fact that it might sell more!

For me, GOW3 became a PS3 system seller practically the moment I finished GOW on PS2.

They are just bunch of crybabies, to be honest, as this game being system seller i doubt it, but that's not the reason i'm excited about, i'm excited about it because i'm gonna get insane game, so if you don't like it that i'm hyping it, hype your own shit.

Standard Fanboy defence #1: if someone says something you disagree with on a forum they're obviously posting on the forum because their system has no good games. A foolish defence being that you're posting on this forum which would (by your own logic) imply that your system has no good games either.

On topic though, "System Seller" is a very poorly defined concept and it is open to interpretation which can make any game (or no game) a system seller. Personally, I see a system seller as a game which continues to be a major driving factor for to people purchasing a system long after the game is released (and a 1 or 2 week boost doesn't count) and the only games this generation that qualify for this would be Wii Sports, Wii Fit, Brain Age and Nintendogs.

I guess it was for me, because GOW III was one of the reasons I got my PS3. One of the reasons; the other big one being the Ratchet and Clank series, but still.
