im happy to see them hurting going xbox exclusive is the stupidest thing ive seen this gen when most of there fan base was on ps3

I thought by now, people would be aware of the deal with IU being exclusive. MS paid for that game to be made, it was never meant to go multiplatform and most likely never will. They got SE to publish it so that it would have a better chance at selling.

This is conjecture, but I was under the impression that SO4 exclusivity (at least timed) was also tied in with IU, in that the engine for SO4 being based off of IU's, which was paid for by MS. So from SE's perspective, they have to publish a mid tier game at minimal cost, and save millions on SO4's development in exchange for (timed) exclusivity.

Their fanbase is actually Japanese.  And the Japanese are behind the Nintendo platforms.  Mostly the DS.

So let the J man get this straight..... sony is entitled to a SE exclusive because they made game exclusive for them before.

Sorry for the J man to break this to you but when your in third place ,you get no hand outs.

Just be happy that you can play ff13 and vs, its not like they left your system.

Why should Square bring home the groceries when Sony didn't provide the expected dinner guests?

If you tell me your going to pick up groceries for dinner.  Then it turns out nobody is going to be home?  Well why should you?

FF13 was going to be PS3 only back when people thought the PS3 was going to do well.  Now that it's going to struggle for 3rd, you've got to expect people to change their plans to you know... make money.

Ok, seriously what are you, ps3 guys complaining about? SO 4 has as much as a right to stay exclusive as FFvXIII and both are getting FFXIII, and don't say that "every SO has been PS exclusive" because there were more FF in only Nintendo consoles than SO in PS consoles. The only SE game that is exclusive for the Xbox 360 is the Last Remnant and even if it's good it doesn't justify all of this bitching (Infinite Undiscovery does NOT cound because MS owns the IP, they just asked tri ace to make the game)

Many things were right, SE has been declining since some time ago, and maybe it's just me but.. this sounds more like if this guy was complaining more about SO4 being a X360 exclusive and that SE haven't supported "enough" for him the PS3 than an article of the SE declining.

I usually don't put people on ignore, but if this forum ever gets ignore button, I'll make sure I'll use it on Paper Diego - not that I'll miss much, half of his posts are of 'PSP is dead' variety.

On to the article now, and I must say I disagree with the most of it. It really sounds like sour grapes to me - I'm sure SO4 would sell better on PS3, but not MUCH better. PS3 doesn't have the userbase, and if anything, PS3 owners should be thankful there's FFXIII and Versus coming the their machine.

I agree about the Eidos bit, now that's a complete waste of money.

In my opinion, Square would be well advised to concentrate on handhelds (as they actually do - DQVI, IX, FFXIII Agito, Parasite Eve 3, Saga remake, Kingdom Hearts 358/2, Kingdom Hearts BBS are all in the pipeline) and start making more Wii games. HD games are very expensive to make, and yet the installed userbase of the HD consoles is rather low, especially in Japan where the most of Square Enix sales come from. For the cost of the likes of Last Remnant and Star Ocean 4, SE could have made a ton of PSP and DS games - and those would have sold so much better.

Wii is getting disrespected as well, what's the point in releasing Echoes of Time when it's (literally) a DS port?

Wada will read this article and decide to cancel all HD projects and bring them all to the Wii

If square enix wants to make xbox exclusive game then let them, If they fail it's their fault they shud thought of what the consequences are b4 doing it and If they succeeded then good 4 them it's their decision which platform the game goes, If you want to play their game then buy the system it's on and stop bitchin about it.
