Why dont we compare the number of online accounts. Plus I know 3 people that have 2 or more 360s.

Even if it was done by online accounts Microsoft still makes more money online. It only supports what i'm saying that active installed base are more important.

Oh dear you were serious. Do you actually believe people go out and buy a new 360 when theirs breaks down? There is a free 3 year warrenty why would nobody take advantage of that ...

Your logic is extremely flawed and entirely without basis in reality. Your notion that everyone has gone through, on average, 2 systems is absolutely laughable. I have yet to meet one person who has bought a second 360, and have known a couple who have had to get it repaired. They do the smart thing and just send it in under the warranty, or pay the small charge attached to fixing it. You are using anecdotal evidence and terrible logic to try and portray the 360 as having a smaller userbase for some reason. Really, everyone would be better off ignoring it.

you know your right !(sarcasm) Wii owners buy more than one Wii as do the PS3 owners

May I ask what you did with your first 360? The one that broke.

I have even better logic to bring to this thread!

Xbox 360 owners are all awesome. Awesome and great are may be used interchangerbly in this context. Therefore the Xbox 360 has a great install base.

You really shouldn't have a problem with this, and my logic is infallable.

see , this is a perfect example of when i said people just want to ignore facts.

im on my 2nd 360 so according to your so-called logic that counts as install base +2 .

im on my 2nd 360 so according to your so-called logic that counts as install base -1 .

 This made me lol. lol...

OT: you may be right to some extent but who cares? a few hardcore gamers? meh, as as for logic we all fail. Look a societys acceptance of alcohol vs weed? there is the logic in that? or that we buy bottled water only to open it at home and drink it, or that we think steroids/altering things is wrong yet we eat cow and chickens, and turkey and pigs that are chock full of the stuff, we allow the same companys that make pesticides and GMO's to also sell us all the medical products we use to proably treat the illness we received form the exposure to there other products, We fail to see alot, humans fail at logic.

PSWii60 owner! woot

In the end, hardware sales aren't the most important numbers. It's the software numbers that matter, they are the ones that make the profit. Whichever console manages to sell the most software is the winner. Attach rates can also skew people's perceptions. Low console numbers will only require a few number of games to make the attach rate look good. Then another monster peaks it's head in, bundles.

I went through 3 360's so I kinda understand what he's trying to say but then I dont understand lol....their cant be THAT many F*cked up 360's...

Oh and my 360's NEVER broke down on me and I had 3...

1st 360 sold for having lack of games at the time that was in early 2006

2nd 360 (Elite) sold for being a D*ckhead needed money at the time

3rd 360 sold since I got a Ps3 and I had to gather up money for my car :)

See so technically I had 3 of those 28 Mil...but thats just me idk How many other people did this lol...and I know some people who would rather go out and buy another 360 then have it shipped then have to wait for it to come back...its possible but doesnt make up for the 8 mil gap

That just means that someone else has those other two now--the amount people own is still exactly the same.  In fact, by this guy's logic, you increaed the install base by doing that.

my logic is simple , if you still want to ignore it be my guest .

and how the hell is the install base going to increase!!!!

Now you see how ridiculous it sounds when someone says that.  Most people are intelligent enough to heed the three-year warranty (which only just expired for launch consoles) instead of shelling out another $200.  On top of that, if you really believe what you're saying, then the PS2 has only sold 70-80 million (roughly half what our numbers say) because almost every owner has had to replace it at some point, andSony DOESN'T fix or replace them for free.

My logic is simple.  If you still want to ignore it, be my guest.

Ok, so you're saying that the other systems are all susceptible to it, and yet they shouldn't be compared.  Also, if you're trying to be 'objective', you failed miserably with the topic title.

Anyway, let's just agree to disagree--neither of us are going to change our minds, and it really doesn't matter, anyway.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Source? Evidence? Proof? Oh, you are just rambling while attacking the 360. If you truly thought this was a problem that affected all three consoles you wouldn't attack the 360 out right for it. Your logic is flawed, and you have no evidence to back it up. Everytime someone claims you could be wrong you just attempt to brush it off by telling them to read your original post. You either refuse to defend your position, or it is indefensible. Either way it means you have no valid point. Address the criticisms or admit you are wrong. You have to do one or the other as continuing to evade the problems people is implicitly saying you are wrong.
