Forums - Gaming - OPM UK -- RE5 Review ----- 8/10! (Begining of underwhelming RE5 reviews??)!

If I had to rate this game, I'd give it a 6/10 at max!

The first (and probably only) deserving review I have seen for this game so far.

8 is not a bad score considering how much the game had to live up to, it's good enough to be a good fan service.

Only in todays ridiculously stupid Game climate that only 9s and 10s are acceptable scores. 8??? How quaint, I expected a 9. Who the fuck cares? This is just getting stupider and stupider.

Seriously, what the heck is wrong with an 8? It's like numerial scores exist simply for those with ADD and to ignite fanboy wars.

Is score really that important? I really don´t get it. I play games, which I want play, even if they got 2/10 or like this (Samurai Warriors, Warriors Orochi rulezzz).

Scores from rewievs can be pointers for people, but rewiev itself is better.

people saying 8 is a good score need a reality check. In the video game industry where dozens to hundreds of games have achieved well beyond 9 aggregate scores, 8 is horrible. If you look at IMDB, an aggregate of reader scores for movies, you will see that not even the highest rated movie of all time has managed to achieve a 9!! An 8 in that industry is high, in the VG industry it is a joke.

you're a joke, you're reasoning is even a joke for your jowk post.

Just because there are many 9 scores that 8 becomes horrible? What?

It's like you're saying that if 99% of a population shares the same opinion means they are the rightful ones. Scores don't go with trends, they are set with standards and yeah, 8/10 = 8/10

You're post would make more sense if it wasn't for the fact that not a single movie ever has gotten a 9.0 or above score in IMDB's history.

Nice way to miss my post, and just go on repeat...

Sorry to say, but this is really a dumbass comparison. You already said it, IMDB uses READER scores. Thousands of people vote for movies, the number one movie has a 9.1 average from over 400.000 votes. On metacritic or gamerankings most scores are just averages from not even a hundred reviews. If games got scored/voted for the same way as movies on IMDB, so by thousands of people, most games would not score higer than a 9 too.

On topic: An 8 is a good score, maybe you expect higher from a game like Resident Evil 5, but it's still solid.

I'm still buying it :)

Yup.

Rotten Tomatoes > IMDB anyway.
