Looking at the trends, it looks like a growing franchise with the latest installements on the PSP being massive hits.

Based on this, you really can't make any conclusions though. If I had to guess, I'd say it will sell less than on the PSP (3M!!!) but probably more than 1M (I'd say 2M ltd).

But I admit that I got this prediction out of my ass (just like your OP I would guess)...

But you do have to pay to play...

And I do think it will sell great - 500k minimum. For a 3rd party Wii game, that's amazing.

Anyways, we are going to see about this.

The console version of MH  has not done so well, even on the PS2.

If the game is done well, it will do great.

 If it turns out to be bad, then it will sell badly no matter what.

Didn't all the console versions get released before the runaway success of the portable installments? So how do we know that a console version won't do well now that the series has become a gigantic hit?

This sounds like someone who is into schadenfreude to me. That or denial.

Truth is, no one knows how well this will do. However, Capcom would not be putting it on the Wii if it did not think it would make them more money than a PS3 version. Between this and DQX, (Dragon Quest X (10)), those are games that could cause people to buy consoles.
