Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Why does sony think im a broke ass gamer who can't afford things that he wants and needs to budget?

Oh right...cause their system costs an arm and a leg.

they have a point, i decided to buy a ps3 ($323) instead of buying a console generation worth of xbl ($250 to $500 depending on how long this gen lasts).

Distorted title...

They list a list of games (obvious) but noo, let's not focus on that.

Let's focus on the fact that they try to get people into home too. Yeah, how dare they.

This is just bashing for the sake of bashing.

Even if you take out the home-attributes, both lists give you some 40 dollars' worth of gaming attributes or just plain games.

BS article and complete cherrypick.

If it were the other way around I doubt you would feel the same way.

@ godbless: That's not the point. The point is that this article talks about a list of games and a costume and that this post is as if sony wants you to spend your entire 50 dollars on clothes for home.

In the list are a number of games, which would be a better way to spend 50 dollars, instead of just being able to have Live.

And if there were an article out there, stating something about Live, and the thread maker decided to pinpoint a specific section and then use it to bash MS, then I would react too, as I have done previously.

This article is a cherrypick, simple as that.

not only by the OP but also sony

b/c to be able to spend that fifty you have to have abigger base investment

it the same thing that came up last time they tried to say you spend more on xbox-----sure you pay fifty a month for live but in teh end you still end up (on average) paying more for the ps3 and things liek this are just trying to mislead weaker minded consumers

Ummm i totally agree with the cherrypicking part

if it was the other way around? How is that exactly? if they said istead of getting Live get a couch a bubble machine and a shoe for Home... yes i probably would agree.... but these lists include games, game addons and TV shows... So if MS said Spend money on live and because we offer a better service than Sony i would agree with that as well.... But i will tell you that i would rather spend money on game addons rahter than paying for service and then also spend money on addons...

You mean the purchase of the console?  Hmm, that's true.  But that's an eternal discussion, since Sony fans will always say "we get more for what we pay for so that doesn't count".

In essence: You pay for something that's free on computers and on the PS3.  Sony says one could spend that money better on games and home stuff.  And not like the OP says: OMFG, they wants you to buy Home stuff  OMFG.

Even if they want you to: they can't make you.  Live, on the other hand, isn't exactly a choice.

Even if you buy everything on the list, which sony gave, you would still have the choice.

The title and the article are totally misleading and cherrypicking.

(meso: I'll gladly have the base investment-discussion in another thread :p  Although I think the conclusion would be reached rather quickly).

theyve got a point. still, it wont do much. i dont like when they try to say "we're better than ____ because"
