Forums - Sony - Is GT5:P worth the $40?

GTP is a fantastic sim, you won't regret it.   Would recommend a G25 wheel for it.

I don't think Grid can be considered a sim btw.

No, it is not worth paying for.

Don't listen to this Troll.  He's still pissed his mom bought him a Wii instead of a PS3.

The game is well worth it.  The full version may or may not be out this year.  If it does come out at the end of the year, GT5P will keep you happy untill then.

To answer the question about open wheel cars, it does have a Ferrari F1 car.

Amazing seeing as I own a Wii as well as a PS3, and GT5-P.

Still, nice flaming.

You're not a troll,  but you are the guy that doesn't like 'racing' games.   Especially Racing Sim Games.

GT5P is worth the price it costs. 40$?   You can probably buy a used copy for 30-35$?    It has a lot of content for a game of that price.  Certainly almost as much or as much as a 'Full' priced game.   It's ultra-realistic, with wonderful graphics.  You can tweak your car quite a bit performance wise.

If you "like" racing sims than you cannot go wrong with Gran Turismo.

gt5p has a good selection of cars but the customization is nothing compared to grid. By no means is it bad, just nowhere near as good.

Ouch. If the only customization in Grid is just color changes, what exacly can you do in GT5? I thought I read somewhere that there's things you can adjust to actually change a car's performance.

The customization options in GT5P are fairly detailed, but the full GT5 will let you tweak just about anything.  GT5P was well worth it.  You should be able to get it for less than $40 now.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

No, it's not worth $40. It MIGHT be worth $20. I can't believe it still retails at that price, honestly.

you can get it for $25, used at amazon, e-bay, or half. I wouldn't pay more than $20 for it (hence why i don't own it)

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

i havent played aGT game since the first game. i bought gt and was entertained for a while. id reccomend looking for it cheaper.

I personally would recommend WipEout HD. It's only $20 for full game, rather than $40 for a "demo." I realize that GT5:P has a lot of content, but I think that it's better to just wait for the full game at this point.

I found it very boring, where's the tuning? A GT game without tuning is damn near worthless imo, this is the very essence of the these games and what made them unique and engaging to begin with.
How a GT "game" without tuning could score so high is beyond me!
