Does anyone think that Sony has a optimistic future in Europe (while they continue to be KILLED in the US)?
Bluray is becoming increasingly popular in the UK which definitely helps the PS3.
I think that games such as the French developed Heavy Rain are being made with Europeans in mind first and will sell better in that region than in the US.
Killzone 2 is being said to already have 1.1 million pre-orders in Europe, and seems to be getting more mainstream press coverage there than the non-existent coverage in the US.
In 2010, GT5 will definitely be a huge hit in Europe, and if sold in a bundle, can appeal to both gamers and parents who would be the ones spending all that cash for their children.
Although the 360 is selling more recently, the gap is still close enough for Sony to make a comeback (while the 360 has a daunting lead over the PS3 in the US).

Although I'm becoming more and more pessimistic with the PS3, I'm hoping that Sony can make the best out of this one (and IMHO, last) chance to not only catch up with the 360 globally, but especially in Europe. I think the news that Sony is leading in Japan and Europe will grab positive (and free) attention to its consoles by both the press and investors, game developers will be more confident in dealing with Sony, and that Sony can cast all doubts that its console is "doomed".
Adding with this the exclusivity of FFXIII for the PS3 in Japan, I hope the PS3 can start turning the tide in 2009 not only in hardware and software sales, but most importantly IMHO, in terms of morale and confidence.
