Yes, Snake can beat up some soldiers, thank you, I am aware. He's been able to do that since before the Shadow Moses incident. He's very good at it.

Master Chief is more intensely trained in close quarter combat than he is, his bones underwent a carbide ceramic ossification process that makes them essentially unbreakable, he's faster, stronger, has better reaction time, and happens to be 6'7 and weigh about 260 pounds of solid muscle.

John-117 could tear apart Solid Snake with his bare hands. Snake may be cooler, but those are the way it is.

No ones doubting that Snake is a badass but come on. You guys are comparing a tactical stealthy perfect clone to a Sci Fi one man army / human tank / freakishly huge alien killing Super soldier. Deep down whether you prefer snake or not we all know who would win this fight.

Your argument is completely ridiculous. It's like saying hey who would win in a MMA fight me or Fedor, however you have to take away all Fedor's training, fighting experience, strength and endurance. Once you do that Fedor is no longer Fedor and the fight means nothing.
The question is who would win in a fight, Snake or MC as is with no modifications. If you want to take away the chiefs armor go ahead he's still going to win. Good luck trying to stab through Chiefs steel hard skull with a knife.

And of course he's not as powerful in the game as in the books, they have to balance the game to account for fairness. I'm guessing snake could be killed by a common soldier in MGS4 too but we all know that would never happen if snake was in control of himself.

Solid Snake beat 3 walking Nuclear Battle tanks, beat the crap out of a drugged cyborg Ninja, and taken on an M1 tank with nothing but a packet of crisps and 2 grenades.
Even as an old **** he still managed to take out plenty of Gekko Metal Gears, beat RAY, get LAUCNHED OVERBOARD INTO A SHIP VIA A CATAPULT, beat the **** out of four crazy bitches and still have time for a smoke.

One of Master Chief's first major missions involved him and a squad wiping out every single Covenant warrior on an entire planet. He's been in several hundred different missions, all of which were larger scale than anything that's happened in Metal Gear.

Hell, the first level of Halo 2 alone is more than anything that's ever happened in Metal Gear.
