Wow. That's like the exact opposite of what i would want.

I would be pissed if i had to buy a movie everytime i wanted a game.

I like videogames.... not movies.

I mean if I had to buy a chicken sandwhich everytime i wanted a hamburger i'd be pissed too.

just like how you HAVE to buy a BD everytime you want a dvd? Its not like this is going to take away getting th emovie or game seperately....i think this i sgreat because it gets the word out more for the PS3 as well as BD....great move.

You will when sony gets there way yes.

Sony says this is how they see the future.  Sounds like the only way to get some games will be with movies.

no. youre just completely wrong. First of all the BDA isnt just sony. Sony doesnt control the BDA....secondly, Toshiba, who owned the DVD patent never strong armed DVD only sales over VHS...it phased out with A History of Violence being the last VHS, IIRC.....this paranoia that Sony is running some mobster operation is getting out of hand on the internet.

Dont worry, nobody is treading on you. Sony sees this as an option in the future....just like how you can still even buy full frame dvd's and widescreen dvds...the idea that Sony is going to strong arm only BD over DVD anytime within the next 4 years is assenine and to assume or even entertain the thought that youll be forced into buying a $60-$70 movie because of sony is even more idiotic.

what the hell are all you smoking. I took this as being just like it was for dvd's. Like say next harry potter movie comes out and has a demo for the next harry potter game, or other tie in movie/games.

they wouldn't just randomly throw uncharted on indiana jones movie or shit like that. And they would not have the full game on it either.

and if it is say full game like movie and game.  spiderman 3, harry potter ect.  you would have a choice and not be forced to pay another 60 dollars.  you could get the game solo and movie solo.  so why would you care.  To me this sounds like a bad financial move.  i don't see that selling well at all and retailers being too scared to order large volumes of it.

Your group of people that are going to buy the blu ray movie have to also have a PS3, and be a gamer.  it is getting quite picky in the selection.  Business' like to appeal to a broad range of consumers not nit pick down to a small catagory.

Think of it this way. Game = 60$, Movie =20$.If you want both that is 80$ right? I know I like lots of movies. If they did this for the Chronicles of Riddick I would get it in a heartbeat. Sure maybe it wont sell as fast or as much as just the game and just the movie. But it is a nice little option.

why r most of you acting like angry house wives and getting your knickers in a twist? calm down, take a breather and relax.

all sony has said is they will be releasing a dual purpose product, they haven't said anything about stopping production of stand alone games and films.

what does that mean for ps3 owners? it means we get more options and the possibility to save money.

e.g. ghostbusters film and game or chronicles of riddick.

many people buy both. im 1of them. atleast i will have the option to possibly save money.

if you guys would relax you would understand there is more to benefit and no downside. last i checked options, savings and no downsides were a good thing.

This is a good idea.

Becouse they most probably have seen PS3 console only on pictures :)

That would be kinda cool if you could get whole new Star Wars trilogy and Force Unleashed as a joined deal - altrough at the same time they could just thrown 4th disc into the mix without much impact on price of production.

So I guess biggest advantage is putting demo for movie game on a movie BR and maybe some cheap rereleases for older stuff to milk it bit more.
