Forums - Sony - Terrorized by KZ2?

please dont dare knock the Ccondemned series in front of me and try to act like its an inferior game....it only proves to me that your a graphics whore that cant appricat anythign that isnt bleeding polygons

and yes the only thing about KZ that is better then Bloodshot is the graphics

Condemned is a solid game but it isn't in the same class as Kill Zone 2.  It just isn't.  Condemned is a game you rent and have fun with.  Kill Zone 2 is a game you purchase and have fun with.  There is a difference.  And a vast majority of people would agree with that statement.

I certainly value gameplay.  I certainly don't care about only graphics.  Kill Zone 2 has good gameplay for a First Person Shooter.  Certainly every bit as good as Condemned 2 did.

You expect Kill Zone 2 to re-invent the wheel entirely for First Person Shooters and act like since it hasn't added all these different features it is somehow a poor game.  Did Halo 1/ Halo 2/ Halo 3 drastically change the way shooters were done? Nope.   Did Goldeneye 64 really change the way First Person Shooters were done? Nah.

This reminds of an argument of someone complaining about Gran Turismo and how they don't like the straight racing modes. Well ofcourse you won't like Gran Turismo,  It's a RACING game.

In terms of gameplay, Condemned 2 is VASTLY supetior to KZ2? WOW! Ok, first of all, you're talking to a HUGE Condemned fan here, problem is you're comparing a survival horror game in the first person to an FPS. That right there, kills this argument. And the shooting in Condemned 2 felt very tacked on. Question though, have you played KZ2 - demo/beta?

you dont have to have played the beta to know what the game looks like and all you ahev to do is watch some one to know it plays like almost every other FPS in the feild

just go to you tube and spend 20 mins and you can see almost every second of gamplay avaliable to another  peron, the olny differnce is i am not point the analog sticks to shoot head a

which leads me to see that its just another fps, but teh best looking fps b/t the 360 and ps3

and i dont see Condemded as a survival horror since its all set in FP perspetive and is based on FPA with guns

and since it has a multiplayer (which needs an update ) that is based of combat and guns it tends to ull further away from that genra

the first game in thhe seriese was more survival horror and this one is more FPSM Horror

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

I guess i should start making game reviews based on youtube videos

Systems owned: NES, SNES, N64, PS1, PS2, PS3, Wii, Xbox360

Currently Playing: UNCHARTED 2 !!

Waiting for: FFXIII, GoW3, GT5, Mass Effect 2

Fallout 3 uses guns from the first person camera. It is an RPG. Just because you shoot stuff from a first person view does NOT mean its an FPS. And Killzone 2 lets you string together melee attacks.

The point is,

Kill Zone 2 doesn't have to redefine the genre for First Person Shooters to be a wonderful, amazing game that people will play and remember for long periods of time.

And you haven't even played the game.  Again which is just another gem that makes your opinion virtually worthless.

@Jaa--You expect Kill Zone 2 to re-invent the wheel entirely for First Person Shooters and act like since it hasn't added all these different features it is somehow a poor game.

(never said it was a poor game its just like every this else in the field, and if the raving boards of the internet are going to act like its the end all of ps3 games (or they will at least until the next big thing comes) then it better have something over then just a pretty new makeup job on to impress me)

Did Halo 1/ Halo 2/ Halo 3 drastically change the way shooters were done? Nope.

(nope I agree completely and say it all the time, the only thing that halo did was take all of the best part of PC shooter and package it up with a pretty bow for the Xbox and the 360—I call it the halo effect and all pc gamers agree with me on that)

Did Goldeneye 64 really change the way First Person Shooters were done? Nah.

(well yeah it did, it was the for father in terms of laying the ground work for how the field should be done on machines that did not have dell , or IBM, tag associated with them, in other words not a PC)

@CGI—even a blind man can tell you when something stinks and just b/c I haven’t played it wont change anything all that much---and every video shows the same thing I would get if I was the one holding the controller, or is there some magic 4d warp that makes it so it is vastly different when it you holding the control as to compared to watching the person hold the controller? I mean is there some special button combo that has yet to be shown that makes it more then just point at grunt as and shoot? You fighting a losing battle b/c as long as it uses dual analog it will share gamepaly quirks with every other shooter that uses sticks

No there isn’t….hmm well that would mean I am right then wouldn’t it?

Wow, We watch Video Games now??????
