How can anything chess related be pathetic ??? It´s the godfather of all strategy games, there is a reason this game was played fore at least 3000 years (yeah I know it changed a little) , if thats not a classic what is, if Bobby Fisher finds out about you MontanaHatchet and Starcraftmaniac hes gonna beat you... at chess. If this has online I´ll get it 100%.

My only question is, assuming this has battle animations and the usual mario charakters are used, will Mario and Princes would be King and Queen ??? I´d really like that, fore once Mario would stand around and do very little while Princes is all over the place kicking ass and tacking names, would be a really nice mix up if you ask me :) 

If it's at least like chess titans (vista chess) and with a budget price, it's a nice addition.

Mahjongfor PS3 is one of the most graphically intense games ever...

WiiChess will be cool, I hope that they include more than one theme and new board shapes/set-ups. Instead of black and white: Mario v. Bowser, Federation v. Space Pirates, etc.

If they do Mii's I can already see the dumbass racist things that people will do already.

A feeling tells me though, to not get too excited.

I'd like to see it bundled with other classic strategy games, like backgammon, go, and checkers.

And yes, there had best be online.

Now *thats* an idea. Clubhouse games - for the Wii - and online.

I've liked the idea from the beginning... But "famousringo" has made it just perfect, so I like it a lot more. Club House Wii Games *WFC* for NOW! Anyone inspired to do an online petition? xD

Battle Chess for the NES however ruled.  Kinda wish they would just VC that instead. Maybe with wii pointer thrown in.  Or just VC the computer version.

This is... sarcasm?  Chess a casual game?  Do you know how hard it is to even be halway decent in chess?  You have to think like 5 moves ahead and play many games a day.  Chess is like one of the ultimate hardcore games.

For your info, I am an avid chess player.

Which is why I am disgusted at this. I thought chess was one of those things you did with your friend, sitting at your local Starbucks, sipping your frappuccino so loudly that your opponents loses their concentration.

Instead, Nintendo decides that we need another way to replace an intellectually stimulating activity. I am sick of all these simulation games. Nintendogs was fine. After all, you can't just adopt a puppy whenever you want. It will crap all over your house. As for Wii Sports, these things are perfectly possible in real life, but I guess some people don't want to pay at their local bowling alley or go down to a country club.

But this is just ridiculous. All you need to play chess is a chess set and a friend. Nintendo could be busy working on Project H.A.M.M.E.R, but no, let's go replace more things people can easily do in reality.
