Mmm...No More Heroes was much better than I thought it was. I absolutely can not wait for the sequel.

Assassins Creed

Didn't care the least until it came out and WOOOW !!! I had a new hero. Wonderful game.

Damn, it was the complete opposite for me.

I had really HIGH expectations, even claim was one of the games that i didn't want to miss (back in the time when i only had the wii). After so much time of waiting, my friend brought me the game so i could play it.. and oh my f*****g S**t.... boring ass game. Couldn't even get that far. It was so boring, and repetitive,  that i couldn't take it anymore. Had to give it back u.u

It's great that u really enjoy the game... i wish it was the same for me =

At first I thought it would be a hardcore stealth game. Thank god it's not.

The graphics are awesome and it's so much fun to run & jump over the rooftops. The story was great as well. You could find so many secrets when you keep talking to Lucy. The missions are a bit repetitive, but I liked every single minute of it. The achievements were also nice (except for the stupid idea of gathering ~500 flags.....)

Sucks you didn't like it :(

If I had to name a game that I like despite my expectations, it would be Call of Duty 4. It looked like the average bog-standard shooter, and I couldn't figure out where all the praise was coming from. Then I tried it myself on a friend's console, and was totally blown away by the awesomeness. It felt like actually being in a war, and still have erotic dreams of the mutton chops guy.

Other than that, I can't think of any big surprises. Maybe Assassin's Creed being such a mess. Oh, and not liking Europa Universalis: Rome. Antiquity used to be my favorite historical period, and EU is one of my favorite franchises, but the game just didn't do it for me. =/

Bad

Nights journey of dreams- After the absolutely amazing original i was gutted with the overall quality of this game from the graphics to the music and the clunky gameplay, i didn't think it was possible to taint my opinion of nights but the unpleasant surprise that awaited me when i played journey will make me a lot more cautious if sega decide to try again, gutted.

Good

Dead space- What i thought was just going to be a cliche corridoor shooter turned out to be one of my top 10 games of 2008, The sound design, the graphics, the suspense and the atmosphere were absolutely top notch and gave me the best resident evil like experience i've had since resi remake on the cube, i only bought the game cause i had loads of money to burn but i'm so glad i did and i'm so grateful to my bro' for suggesting it to me.

nintendo and sega fan since i was old enough to hold a game controller.

note: my games collection on my profile is only 20ish% complete, i've got a boatload of 360,saturn and dreamcast games to add and a few ps3 games, thanks :)

Support good third party games on wii. Buy games like house of the dead overkill, de blob, madworld, the conduit and boom blox.

Good:

Uncharted drake's fortune
Assassin's creed
GT5P
LBP
Resistance 2
Killzone2

Bad:

360's RPG's
Prince of Persia
MGSIV
Buzz

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

I always thought point and click games were just stupid before playing the Ace Attorney series.

4 ≈ One

Valkyria Chronicles, who would have thought a SRPG would be this fun and have a great story.

All of them were good for me.

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass- I didn't expect to like this game since I hated Wind Waker, but this game is SO much better than said game in every way possible. If there are anymore Wind Waker sequels planned, they should stay on the DS, they just work so much better.

Escape From Bug Island- One of those games that got bad reception, but I myself enjoyed my time stomping bugs and killing monsters. Controls weren't as bad as people claimed either.

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts- With the absence of Banjo and Kazooie last gen, I thought there wasn't going to be anymore of them. Thankfully they did!

Kung Fu Panda- I didn't expect much out of this game considering it was a movie based game, but it was actually a pretty fun brawler with a lot of satisfying fighting, neat challenges, fun boss fights. It's just a shame the game is SHORT.

Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)- I heard this game was bad, but playing it myself I actually found myself sucked into it and actually having fun.
