GOW = Gears of War, the bigger game gets the shorter acronym.

GoOW = God of War, the littler game gets the longer acronym or must be spelt out.

Hah. Let's be fair, God of War did come out first... and was a decent hit. A game can't just rob another of its acronym just because it sells more, can it?

I suppose sometimes it should. Recently when I referred to Mario Kart as MK, two friends thought I was talking about Mortal Kombat. That series is long gone, man...

Oh, on topic - I disagree. GeoW was the first amazing looking HD game - when it came out, nothing came close. Killzone 2 only looks marginally better than current games out there. Also, KZ2 is an FPS - it plays like so many out there. The same can't really be said about GeoW. Even if KZ2 is great, it's still just another FPS with slightly better graphics. Personally, I think people are really overestimating the impact this game will have.

Anyway, Uncharted probably has more similarities with GeoW.

Tps, have a strong art direction with better use if colour unlike kz2 which has a smaller colour palette and not so artistic art style. Uncharted and geow cover system is very different to kz2.

The only similarities kz2 and geow have are bad dialogue, alpha male characters and warfare.

IMO, kz2 and geow aren't so much alike as you claim.

Killzone 2 is not the PS3's GeOW (GoW is God of War). The PS3 doesn't have a Gears of War, nor does it need one. Gears of War is not the 360's Killzone, Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts (lol) is not the 360's Ratchet and Clank!

It has similarities, yes, but I think you're forgetting that Killzone 2 is in first person, Gears is in third. Also, other than Edge, most critics praised KZ2's story.

Most gamers know both acronyms.  God of War is very popular and came first.  Now only that, the sequel is coming out within a year.  You'd think that on a Sony forum the guy would pay attention to that.

All games from this point on will be referred to in their full name.

God Of War = God of War, sometimes referred to as "that game with the lesbos".

You guys are just going way out of hand about this game. There are going to be a lot of these threads the day the game is released.
