the thing is i hate turn based rpgs , thats why i loved phantasy star online. does this have similar gaming mechanics ?

Haven't played phantasy star online.

This is how it works in VC:

you have a fixed amount of CP.

Depending on the unit, you have to use an amount of CP (in the demo everything uses 1 CP and the tank uses 2).

The camera then goes behind the unit and you get to move them around freely until their gauge is empty. During that time you can make them attack once too.

It then goes back to the overhead-stage and you can do it all over again with another unit, or even with the same unit if you want.

After all that (you can get fired upon when you run close to enemy units during your own turn), it's the enemy's turn.

So still turn based, but not in grid-style, but free-running and planning. And not with "used char, therefore not usable anymore this turn".

If you are having questions about the general battle style Fei Hung then go try the demo if you haven't, it doesn't do the full game justice, but it gives a decent idea about how battles play out.

I picked mine up a week or so ago.... it was the lost copy in the store and they told me it is DISCONTINUED.

Im on the last chapter, im Barely getting some clases into lv12, most are lv11 <.<;;; i did not do any skirmishes thou

In this game, the better you play it, the quicker you gain levels, as you gain the most experience.

That means A ranking everything will get you to lvl 20 on the first playthrough.

Mostly because of the genre itself and advertising.

Strategy RPGs do not sell well as a rule of thumb. Despite this being a great game, it's appeal is very limited.

Also, the game was only advertised in small videogame magazines and we know how little those matter now.

I really need to finish this game. I just don't have the time. :'(
