Forums - Nintendo - Metroid prime 3 vs Metroid Prime 1 Wii play

I didn't play the original Metroid Prime but if the Wiimake is nothing more than updated controls then it better have a bargain bin price tag.

I don't buy crappy ports (even of good games) at full price.

All of the "New Play Control!" games retail at... Half the price, I think? There's no way Nintendo would try and sell them at full price :p

The price tag on the original Metroid Prime is now <$7.

If you played the original, that's $25+tax you're paying for an old game with a new control scheme.

If you didn't play the original, that's $18+tax you're paying for a new control scheme versus just rebuying the old one.

At a $15 or $20 pricetag, it would be in my value range.  At $25, not quite.

hey its better than a $40 dead rising wii. and what are you expecting nintendo can't sell this at 5 bucks, metorid prime is afterall considered to be one of the best games ever(yes, ever not only last gen) and the gamecube sold sold so poorly nintendo wants new gamers to experience games that weren't enjoyed by much people last gen, metroid prime is worth the $25.

I can see how you may not want to use $25 on Metroid Prime, but are you honestly saying the game isn't worth $25?

I'm saying the new controls are not worth $25.

If I want the game I can buy it for $6+shipping.

Luckily for Nintendo, there are bitches like me who will gleefully pay $30 for the definitive version of this game. And beg for more. :3

Ho Hell Yeah ! In order Prime 1 is the best, the 3th is pretty good and the second is ok....

Ok,so I guess words of wisdom is a minority.Hopefully, many video game newcomers will buy it.Also, many peeps who never had a Gcube or just joined the nintendo-game owners will also buy it.
1.Emilie autumn said:metroid prime 3 is the best, it may have not being as revolutionary as prime 1, but it is overall a better game and harder game. btw has any else noticed they have changed the way you change visors from the old little move c-stick form to the new dragg the pointer while holding plus setting.
2.Majin-Tenshinan said:I think, going by the Wiimakes(can't be certain as I haven't played them yet), I'd rate the games like this:

MP1 > MP3 > MP2.

Not surprising, since that's the exact same way I rate them now (MP1 and 2 being judged on the GC-controls, and MP3 on Wii controls.)
Points 1 & 2 are exactly the reason I started this thread.I guess I'll get it whether or not i end up finishing the G-cube version(bcuz my cube is nearly dead.It hangs, sometimes doesn't read tha disk, etc) bcuz I usually beat games like that twice & the IR should help me enjoy my 2nd play through.
Now,lemme ask another question, especially at Words of Wisdom.
1.What if there are subtle improvements besides IR controls? Will u buy it.
2.What if there are A FEW BIG UPGRADES?
