AU: Animal Crossing Wii Gets DLC
Get your hands on a free item from today.
Australia, February 8, 2009 -Nintendo Australia has finally begun to make good on the promise of free content for Animal Crossing: Let's Go to the City owners out there. From today, players can download a special item to further customise their character's appearance - a bright red Pikmin hat - to celebrate the release of New Play Control! Pikmin on February 26.
You too can look as wicked-awesome as this guy!
Eager gamers need to get in quick, though - the Pikmin hat will only be available for download until February 12, 2009.
To download your Pikmin hat:
- Make sure your Wii is connected to the internet, with WiiConnect24 turned on
- Ensure that the WiiConnect24 settings in Animal Crossing: Let's Go To The City allow communication with other users - this can be done via the telephone upstairs in your room in Animal Crossing: Lets Go To The City
- The postman will deliver a letter to your house with a gift attached containing the Pikmin hat
Fingers crossed that this is only the start of a surge of cool Animal Crossing freebies from Nintendo. Open those floodgates, guys!

Cool--I'll need to get back on AC in the next couple of days. Hopefully it's available outside of the Down Under.
