While re watching the king of kong for about the 5th time (greatest documentry ever) severl people including Billy Mitchell say that donkey kong on the arcade expecially in funspot is the hardest game ever

Two words: Magician Lord.

Donkey Kong is very awkward when you initially play it, i think, but after a while it can be mastered. Magician Lord just punishes you, consistently. Enemy patterns are often erratic, there is an invisible timer in the game that summons an invincible monster to kill you if you take too long, and its system of health and power ups is just mean

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.
