I don't think gears will come to ps3...that game is one of the games that made ppl buy an xbox so I don't think microsoft will let that game go else wer.

Unless you're talking about all that other Halo merchandise (books/comics etc) that details the past.

Your example does not work here.  They did the original trilogy(which was sequential), and then they did the prequel trilogy(which was also sequential).  I doubt they would leave most of the story threads open and then not resolve them in the 3rd game of the trilogy.

There talk that the Gears movie could be the set up for a trilogy.

Well, Halo Wars is a prequel, and it does release before ODST so maybe that's what he was talking about.

@topic: Even though MS' initial deal with Epic may have been for only two games I'd be willing to bet that MS will pay whatever it takes to keep the series that way for good.  Given the massive sales success of the IP on the 360 that might not even be that much.

It's a damn shame that Star Ocean 4 is a one of those dirty things. We don't want to know what happened in the past, leave that to historians and people with inch thick glasses. We want to know what happened after the last game.

That would be a huge blow to Microsoft if Epic put Gears 3 on PS3.

That would hurt just like when GTA Vice City/San Andreas went on Xbox after GTA3 was PS2 exclusive.

 Whats so bad about Prequels? I know they generally suck but not always.

I don't know for sure, please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't LoZ: Ocarina of Time a prequel to the earlier ones? And its the highest rated game of all time.
