Forums - Microsoft - Next Gears to be a prequel!

http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/952/952452p1.html

I'm not excited since I don't like the game. But this can be huge for fans!!!!

Also, I read somewhere long ago that EPIC GAMES just has contract with Microsoft just for the first 2 games.

So this might end out also on PS3 maybe.

Let the speculation begin!!!!!

No, they are saying there could be a prequel, not necessarily the next one, it would make sense for them to finish off the main trilogy

A prequel could be interesting, but like Munkeh said, they should finish the story then make a prequel.

This will not be on the PS3 unless, MS sells of the rights to the IP or sony buys MS.

A trilogy doesn't necessary have to be a time progressive story...
Can have time lapses... Just like Star Wars!!!!

I would like to see a young and thin (In gow 1 and 2 the guy is fat!!!!) marcus phoenix being recruted for the... anti-alien troopers(?)

(Sorry GoW noob xD)

Microsft doesn't own Gears, EPIC does.

well there would definitly be enough backstory for a prequel game but i imagine that will be the 4th game. kinda like halo

There is as much chance of Halo 4 coming to PS3 as there is of Gear of War: Pendulum Wars coming to PS3. Absolutely no chance.
The prequel Gears of War game should be a great game and will appear November 2010. Gears of War 3 could be a launch game on the next XBox console due out November 2012.

You're still deluded if you think it comes to ps3

Microsoft owns Gears much like Sony owns White Knight Chronicles or Ratchet and Clank. I suppose that last one is a bad example because Insomniac are effectively first party developers, they just don't have the certificate showing it.
